Well, Abby is now 11 weeks old. If you recall we had some crate issues, she wouldn't be in a crate without throwing a fit. I had been covering the crate, well I stopped covering it, she used to sleep with my son, but now she sleeps beside him in the crate. The first couple of nights she whined a couple of times, but I told my son if that happened just to reasure her by speaking to her or just touching the crate.

Potty training, Wow! that was a breeze, Anytime she has to potty she just goes outside. We have a doggie door. I never really worried about potty training her yet, I figured I would start really working on potty training her when she was about 12 weeks old because that was the age my Schnauzers really started catching to what I wanted. I put puppy pads down and she did use them at first, but after a while she just went straight outside to go. At first she went on the sidewalk right outside the door but now she goes all the way to the grassy area. It has been almost two weeks since she has gone potty inside.

She really loves it outside, maybe it has something to do with the fact that before we got her she had never been inside, they had her and her parents living outside. There have been a few times I had to go out and get her because she would be sleeping out there. Crazy girl can come in when she gets ready, but she seems to really enjoy it out there.

Abby sounds like such a good girl, you must be so proud of her!!!!
Grumpy is the same way about being outside - she was also outside with her mom & siblings before we got her. I think she'd stay out there all day if she could. And she was an easy one to potty train too - only ever had 3 accidents in our house I think. They sound so much alike.
Congratulations on the success with the crate too - I remember the heartbreaking cries Grumpy used to make at night, you must be so relieved that Abby is getting over that. Way to go Abby!

Way to go Abby! appicon
I think some just catch on quicker than others don't you? Hank had his ups and downs, but he is just fine now!

The winds were up to 45 miles an hour here yesterday with wind gust up to 55 and Abby didn't much like it, so she peed a couple of times in the house yesterday, but I can't say I blame her. She probably thought what in the world is going on.

She is doing so great for her age. I am proud of her.

That's great. My pups are doing pretty well with their potty training, as well. They still have the occasional accident, but they are pretty good about holding it until we let them outside. Sofie pees inside more often than Arrow. But I have noticed that she will pee at the back door a lot of times when she does it. I just wish she would learn to bark to let us know she needs out. Also, they are both trained now to go number 1 and number 2 outside on command. I make them do that once in the morning before I head off to work and once in the late afternoon/evening when I get home. That is good that they do that at home in the afternoon/evening before I take them on their walk.
