Boxer Insane
I am so sorry for the loss of your baby girl Abby, she was a beautiful boxer!
I hope your deployment goes well...I was in the AF for 8 yrs and during one of my deployments my 3rd boxer girl Zoe was suffering from cardiomyopathy. I was so sad because I wanted to be with her. I felt like nobody really understood what I was feeling as many of my coworkers would give me that look that says "but it is only a dog". She was such a sweetheart and I felt I had let her down. During my deployment (in Somalia) I made friends with many of the young children in the village. One boy touched my heart as his parents complained that his head was always in the clouds and he had ruined their herding dog by making it a "pet". This boy could be seen all day running with his beloved dog not too far, no fancy toys or playgrounds. Just chasing eachother. It touched me and made me realize that I was not the only animal lover there.
When I got home my Zoe was still hanging on and did give me the sweetest wiggles and kisses to let me know it was alright. I helped her to the bridge not too long after. I pray your deployment will go by quickly and safely...you are truly doing a good thing. Be strong, your in my prayers.
Godspeed Abby
