Enough Said~
Ok, it seems like it is time to put this post to rest. I only wish I had the forsight to have known better and NOT posted about this.
I am totally 100% in agreement with everyone who posted about this being a horrendous-inexcusable- thing to do to any animal. That is why I posted in the first place, I knew that what I heard was wrong and knew that everyone here would be in agreement. I never thought I would start getting PM's that were "not so nice". To those of you who sent PM's that were very positive, I am greatful.
I am however not "guilty by association". I have never, and will never harm any living thing and always go out of my way to help or avoid any such scenerio. That is why I will continue to try and help my friend learn in this situation. NOT run for the hills to prove a point that my beliefs, though I feel are justified, are more important than anyone elses.
The fact that I chose to remain friends with what most of you percieve to be a very immoral person is your very entitlement, as is remaining friends with someone that I feel the closeness of a sister, which I have never had, is my entitlement. She again, is not the creator of this situation. The fact that her BF has a male intact dog is one of the culprits, although he is not the one who owns the female, but it is this total stranger to me that is the wicked person who told her of his plans for the pups.
This world is not perfect, nor is it made up of perfect people. I am not implying that anyone tried to persuade me into thinking that they thought they were perfect. The fact is, in my opinion that I can do more good, like I mentioned previously, in trying to educate my friend so that she may pass along this info to the owner of the female, as well as trying to persuade her BF to change his views. All I can do is try. That is all any of us can do. We can't make anyone do anything they don't want to do. We can however keep spreading the word about the positive aspects of good pet ownership. If I were to never speak to her again because of it what will it get me, her, OR the possible litter of pups?
At least this way, a seed has been planted in her mind that she may nourish into something positive.
So, please, stop with all the negitivity towards me. I am on your side. Didn't you read the original post! I was told a story that I only repeated here. My female is spayed. I am not going to ever breed any dog. I called and spoke with a local humane society and was told that it was not illegal to dock tails in either of these manners no matter how extreme is sounds, (and I know it is evil). They said that they themselves could not intervene. So the only option that most of you have given me it to terminate my friendship and that won't help the pups.
So, I apologize to those of you who have seemed offended by this story. But please remember it was not MY story, it was a story told to me. And, again, I titled it "Totally Speachless", due to the fact that it was how I felt when I heard it for the first time.
Don't shoot the messenger........
