Miss Murphy has natural ears and i think it gives the boxer breed such an innocent look.
P.S In Newfoundland it is also illegal to crop ears.

My puppy is only 5 weeks and we are trying to decide whether or not to crop & the comments I have received from a couple local boxer owners was "Oh, you're not going to turn him into a bully are you?"......I think no matter what there's going to be someone out there who disagrees, so you might as well do what YOU want

He's used to getting a lot of negative feed back from people. So in response he just asks them if their son, husband, bf, ect.. .is circumsised. You should see the look on peoples face when he pulls that one out. I think its a very good analogy. I plan on getting my puppys ear's cropped when I get him in October.
No matter what you do in life there is always some butthead who is going to give his/her opinion, and it will most likely not have been asked for and will be completely against whatever it is you decided to do. It makes people feel smart, or they think they are being funny by making stupid comments. Do what makes YOU happy because you can never make everyone happy. I kept Leias ears natural because that's what I like, but I seen Tre's long crop, and Samson's short crop, and both are gorgeous!! just do what makes you happy and don't let anyones rude comments bother you!!

I like Sam's ears like they are, so we keep them floppy. Most people (if they don't know he's a boxer) confuse him with a pitt. It's annoying. I just ignore them. He's adorable and we love each other, and that's all that matters!

Ali's ears aren't cropped and we like it that way. I couldn't care less what people think cause I love her that way. I think it is a personal choice. There will always be people who don't know the difference. I had a lady ask me the same thing last year, if Ali was purebred. Some people just don't know enough about the breed and probably have only seen boxers with their ears cropped. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and it is illegal to crop ears which is fine with me.

I love the look of the boxer no matter what!! Our first boxer had his tail done, ears done (we had them done) and his dewclaws removed. He was also a puppy when we got him. Tigger, we just got a couple weeks ago and he was already 14 months old. He does not have his ears done or his dewclaws removed. His tail is done though. I get the stupid remarks, "what kind of dog is that?" and so on. When we had our first boxer and got his ears done, we even got from FIL, "You aren't going to feed him gun powder are you?" I responded with "HUH?, WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?" Obviously I wasn't going to feed him something like that. UGH!! Thank goodness Tigger was too old for us to hear anything about it!!
A neighbor of mine had two female boxers and both their ears were natural. They were beautiful. Now, she has a puppy and she is going to crop his ears, which I think is fine. I love them all the same!!! The breeder she got him from has his own preference of a crop, the vet actually calls it the Dupont crop, my friend is going to go with his crop!! It's gorgeous!!

I caught heck for quite awhile when Coco was little because of our choice to leave her ears natural. The worst part about it was that it was coming from my own brother not even a stranger. He thinks ALL boxers should have their ears cropped or "they just don't look right" is what he told me. From the time I got her until she was too old to have the procedure he was constantly asking me "have you got that dogs ears cropped yet?" I just kept saying No and I'm not going to. I like her this way and I think it adds a ton of personality to her. I have been fortunate in that the strangers I have came across usually say they like the floppy ears on a boxer. I was really aggravated at my brother for some time because he just wouldn't leave it alone.

I've had a neighbour comment on docking his tail she was like " are they born without a tail?" and her friend (who has a pitbull with his ears docked) said "no you do it when they're first born " and she was like "oh" then just looked at me like I was so cruel to him . I felt like telling her that I wasn't going to clip his ears like most people do and it was already cut off before I got him , and point out that her buddy there had clipped his dogs ears but I'm not usually one to be rude . I just try to keep the peace since she does live in my building. I was so mad at the time though.
