I had not heard this either. Thanks for the info. I have a few glass ornaments, but they are at the top of the tree.

Update! I forwarded this article to my friend the day I read it. She has a 7.5 month old Bullmastiff puppy. What did she do the next morning but eat some glass ornaments! I was so glad that I had decided to forward this to her. She had the cotton balls & the half & half & fed it right to her.

this is great, thanks for the warning! i printed it out and put it on my fridge, so that i will remember to pick up the cotton balls and half-and-half when i go for groceries... :P

Thanks for the info. I printed it out a few wks ago--and used it today when Titan broke 10 ornaments and had an eleventh on the ground. I fed him the cotton balls w/ cream--nothing has happened yet. He tried to do the "i didnt do it look", but the shiny face and feet gave him away --so we spent all afternoon looking at the tree saying- NO tree, leave it

Gee, I wish I had read this a week or so ago. My boxer decided to chew up a couple glass balls too. But she was violently throwing up, so we rushed her to the vet. The vet took x-rays and ended up keeping her over night because she was throwing up so badly. No glass was ever found. But it did cost us $170.00 when we picked her up the next day. I just wish I had known about the cotton balls.

I know Christmas is over..but suggestions for next year:
When we decorate the tree, we put large non breakable ornaments and cloth or paper ones at the bottom and the glass ones at the top. We have a couple that are bells...sorta like a tree alarm. They ring if anyone is bothering the tree.
