Be especially careful if you are using tinsel and have a cat. Tinsel can get stuck in a cat's lungs and they can sufficate. For anyone who has a cat I would suggest no tinsel.

Thanks so much!! I am forwarding the info to my family who have dogs as well. Just another reason why I love Boxerworld!!

Rockys Mom 2

I read about this not so long ago and went out and bought the supplies. Not more than two days went by and Rocky decided to eat the glass lights. I right away went and had him eat 5 cotton balls soaked in half & half. Luckily I had no problems with blood in his stools but he did throw up a couple cotton balls the next day.

Thanks so much! These days seem to be so hectic and crazy we forget. Rockys mom 2- I'm so glad Rocky's ok. Very scary.

Julie, I really appreciated this information last year when Scrapper dissected a few Christmas ornaments. It was nice to know what to do. There were no adverse side effects, I just stuffed those cream soaked cotton balls into his mouth and he swallowed them right down.
Thanks!

Yes, thanks for reposting this. I remember the first time I read about this treatment I thought "oh what a good thing to remember", but of course I didn't. So I just now went out and bought my cotton balls and half and half, (just in case).

Thanks Julie for that info! This is my first year having a boxer and I've been wondering about what to do if/when she eats something off the tree. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately) we won't have a tree this year because we are still reconstructing our house from the hurricane Isabelle flood (although it's been great to housebreak with no carpet ;) ). However, we will be at my Mom's, so I'll have to watch her there.

Thanks again!

Jill :)

Thanks for the advice. Is nice to know what to do in case something happens.

This time I decided not to put a Xmas tree, due to the fact that my Lupita is still a baby and I'm affraid that she gets hurt with something. Even though I watch her all the time, accidents can happen in less than a minute. So, I'll rather wait next year when she gets a little older. I only decorate the house with safe things that she can not get hurt. smashicon
(The reason I didn't put a tree this year is because my baby is teething -she is 4 months old- and everything she founds she grabs it and put it in her mouth, so just to be safe I decided not to put a tree)
