1st off I have been a bw follower for 8 years since my first girl and have never posted. I am stumped. I have the perfect puppy. Lamb Chop is 17 weeks and uses the doggie door to go out and potty on her own. She has not had an accident in the house in almost a month. She sits and is working on stay. She is a little scared around other people in the house but in petsmart and the dog park she is fine. She recalls on and of lead already even when kids are walking by.....I know just had to toot her horn but here is the problem.....
Lambchop takes anything that will fit through the doggie door outside. She does not chew on it just takes it outside. All of her toys and bones are outside of course but she has started taking shoes, clothes, remotes.....now it is like a treasure hunt. She goes round the house trying to find things to take outside. the other day she ran past me with the wii remote heading for the doggie door. I tell her no and she drops it but as soon as I turn my head she starts looking again. She has even gone so far as to jump on the couch and up on the table to get stuff that will fit through the door. I dont want to discourage her from using the door or set her potty training backwards by blocking the door so she cant go out when she wants to but she is soooo tricky. If I go to the bathroom I have to go straight out to see what she grabbed. Every time I think there is nothing else puppy level she surprises me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

LOL! Typical Boxer Puppy mischief! I'm so sorry to laugh and don't have any advice. But that is so funny. Good luck to you and your baby..

Looks like Lambchop is taking over and movin' ya'll outta da house! LMAO

I'm sorry, this is very serious to you, but this belongs in the book of "The silliest things Boxer's do".

I wish I could have an answer for you, but I'm at a loss with this one. Hopefully one of the "pros" here will be able to assist.

I have no advice since I've never used a doggy door. But I have to say the visual is terrific! Also, I just love her name. Now you need a boy named Charlie Horse!

Sorry, no advice, but that is too cute (I'm sure you don't think so tho), but I can picture in my head her taking stuff out that doggie door...lol

Teach her to retrieve. If you make bringing items to you extremely rewarding, she will begin to prefer that to taking them outside. Couple this with training a good "leave it" towards human items around the house. And of course there's the obvious "make sure she's getting enough physical and mental stimulation" speech that I'm sure you already know. The little smarty-pants has taught herself a fun little game, but if you teach her something more fun, she'll likely give it up.

I am so sorry...but I think that is the cutest thing I have heard in a long time!!
It just goes to prove that boxers are extremely smart and absolutely have a thought process...you will look back on this someday and it will warm your heart to remember him as a baby and the crazy things he did!!!

This is a great idea. i have been trying fetch and "get it" command to try and get her to bring the stuff back in on her own but that didnt work. I will have her retrieve little things all day while i am home.then maybe instead of taking it outside she will start bringing random things to me. Even that would be better. Maybe that will lead to her cleaning up after herself. I have a little hope now thanks.

I have trained the "leave it" command and the "give" command and this has prevented Solomon from taking human things, and to leave things along.

Both of these commands are very useful. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for the mental picture. It has put a smile on my face!
