Texas weather

For anyone that lives in Texas right now, are ya'll experiencing some crazy weather?!! We are in Denton (a bitt north of Dallas) and two days ago we were freezing cold, and today it is 75 degrees! It has snowed a couple of days (near Christmas), but it snowed more in Brownsville (for those of you who don't know, it is at the very bottom tip of Texas) than it did up here! And the forecast for the next week never dips in the 40's even!!

I guess that old saying still stands "If you don't like the Texas weather, just wait five minutes ..."

I gotta say though, I'm not complaining! We've been enjoying it to the fullest - going to the park, riding our bikes, playing with Asia in the tennis courts at our complex...!!

What do you guys think of our CrAzY weather??

Sounds like Texas and Alberta have a lot in common! Where I live, we get chinook winds that heat us up in the middle of winter... it can go from -40 C and 2 feet of snow in one day to +20 C and no snow the next. We NEVER put our winter clothes away either... it has snowed every month of the year here... once it was +30 C and later in the day it snowed... IN JULY.

Enjoy your warm spell... you don't know how long it could last!

I was born & raised in Tx ...move to FL 4 years ago....but I do miss Tx weather ....you name it ...Tx gets it....except the real bad snow storms. ..The panhandle get more snow than any other part of Tx. Tx has the 4 seasons....FLorida doesn't. The leafs are just now starting to fall ...and its almost 80 degrees.
One thing I don't miss about Tx weather ...is the ice storms ...Tx thunder storms... hail as big as grapefruit...the sand storms...But we have hurricanes in FL....guess every place has its weather down fall..!!

I was on South Padre Island when it snowed on Christmas Eve. I went outside at 2am and it was 27 degrees...OMG! Crazy weather. It was weird when I woke up to snow on the ground when it was suppose to be in the higher 70's to low 80's I have pictures:D

It is crazy here right now! It is supposed to be pretty cold by the end of the week and for the weekend, but until then we have a few days that are going to be close to 80 degrees~ Ugg! Go figure. I sure hope it is winter soon!

We can have a wee swap then you can come here for a cold wet snowie Scottish winter and i'll come to Texas for some hot or cold crazy weather.... eh not to sure about tornados (can't spel) though!!!!!

Come and visit anyway. It is not torando season. Anyway after living in Texas all my life (39 years) the closest I have come to one was about 1/4 mile. You can tell by the weather and television when the conditions for one are right. We really don't worry much about them, but they are the worst and most damaging weather condition were have, except possibly down south hurricanes. Texas is so big we have forest, desert, costal areas, plains area, and the tail end of a mountain range.
We also have gotten alot of rain this year, nothing like you are used to but enough for us. I can't image living anywhere else. But I would like to visit other places more.

I used to live in south-central Texas (near Houston), and there I developed my huge fear of tornados. Then, I moved up to Denton...I had no idea that Denton is in 'tornado alley'...

Ever since I have been here (three years), we have had the conditions for a tornado, but have only been under a tornado warning about three times.

Jo.mcqueen - I will switch you places for a week or two gladly!! I have travelled a lot but have never been to Scotland (although my parents have)! They said it was really rainy, but absolutely beautiful!

Gladly I have only ever visited Florida in USA but would love to see more! Think I'll need to be having a wee word with the Boyf and give him a push in the right direction...... see a bit more of the world before we settle down to have a family!

Scotland is a really beautiful place to see, it's just a little depressing in winter when the the sky is grey and you can't see the hills for the rain!!!!

Hi guys! Don't fret too much about those tornados. We have awesome early detection here. I have lived in the Dallas area since I was 3, and let me tell ya that's a long time, and I have personally seen one tornado and that's when I was about 10, 33 years ago. They're scary, but less common than some people think. I worry more about the hail and straight line winds that can come with some of our storms.
