Rowdy Boys
Completely Boxer Crazy
This is my first post since I've been a member.
I need SUPPORT!! So, I came to the place I've grown attached to - here.
I've been away from our boys for 48 hours now, and I think I'm going to die.
Is anyone else away from their babies this holiday and having separation anxiety?
Usually we take our two fur babies on vacation with us, but my mom and dad got a German Shephard puppy just after Labor Day, and now we have to leave our babies at home.:( Their house just can't support three inside dogs, my parents, my sister, my husband our daughter and me. Plus, Omar isn't fixed and we don't want any problems with the 4 month old female.
Unfortunately, I've learned how different German Shephard dogs are from boxers. She doesn't like anyone other than my mom and dad. Our poor 6 yr. old daughter is really feeling bad right now. The puppy barks at her, runs away from her and doesn't let her pet her. Plus, the puppy and my daughter seem to be jealous of each other because of the divided attention they are receiving from my mom. Justice doesn't understand why this dog doesn't like her and takes it personally. She's so used to Magnum and Omar - they worship her.
And, to be honest, I don't understand that GS's behavior either.
I already called the vet yesterday to check on the Rowdy Boys, and I will be calling them again tomorrow AND Saturday.
We're going home on Sunday, but the vet will be closed so we can't pick them up until Monday. I am leaving work as soon as they are open and getting my boys.
I am not as worried about Magnum as I am about Omar. We adopted him just before Memorial Day Weekend, and this is the first time he's been away from us. I am afraid he'll think we've abandoned him. I took their fleece blankets from their crates for them to have in their runs. I also took their food for them to eat.
They are in runs next to each other. Hopefully having his "brother" by his side will be comforting to Omar.
So, since I can't be with my boys, I've come here for a "fix" and I've already pulled out the pictures I brought with me of our boys.
I just miss their kisses and their wiggles and their sassy woo-woo songs.:(
Thanks for listening friends. Happy Turkey Day.
