Good Lord, that would have been terrible scary. Thankful she's okay. I tell ya what...this isn't as bad but still freaky, speaking of sticking things where they don't belong. When my son was two, he proceeded to stick a rock up his nose at daycare, they couldn't get it out. I drove all the way to hospital totally freaking because I just knew he was going to breath it back into his windpipe and choke. we got there & they managed to get him to blow it out of his nose. Phew...then about 6 mos later..I caught him getting in the silverware drawer at home, I asked what he was doing, he says "I got a nut up my nose"! WHAAAA, yep stuck a peanut up his nose. He was trying to get a spoon, I guess he thought he was going to dig it out! This time they had to use a cathader and shove it up his nose past the nut and inflated then pulled it out. He was not happy about that procedure and needless to say after that, he never put anything else up there. All I'm saying is stuff like that can happen to anyone, no matter how close you watch them, kids get into stuff and you have no clue. I'm sure that the last thing you were thinking is that she was going to shove a marble in her mouth. Take it easy on yourself, not your fault. You obviously reacted the right way and handled the situation. You did awesome!

thanks

Thank you all for the kind words.
I still have moments when the entire episode just replays in my mind....very terrifying.
It is so hard not to think....what if i did not get the ball out??
Both me and my husband think it was a fluke accident with her...as she is not the kid that sticks things in her mouth....I think she put it in her mouth..and because the ball is slippery...it just went to the back of her throat.
Now we are both petriffied to leave her without either one of us....i am sure with some time we will get over it...me more so than hubby.
Hopefully the little bugger learned a lesson.... i hope!!
