Holden's Mom, I am so sorry that you have had to go through this numerous times ... no one deserves it ... especially not our sweet babies! :(

Squeeze her tight, and give her more kisses and hugs than she can handle

We are doing just that! :D I was laughing earlier because of all the things I've been doing with her lately. I've been just as lazy as she has! It takes a while for me to go to bed because I usually find her and lay with her wherever she's laying and hug and love on her - eventually, she ends up getting up and leaving me! I guess I'm loving on her too much! She usually doesn't like sleeping on the couch with me but lately I've noticed we've been getting closer with her, and she's been at my feet. Today I grabbed her and we snuggled side by side, it was special!

Thanks again for all your replies ... I've been giving Asia lots of hugs from us, as well as from you guys and she's loving it! ;) You guys continue to amaze me (again and again and again) ... We are truly greatful ... ;)

Thats funny!!!! Doja does the same thing to me.... I always grab her and squeeze her, and kiss her and tell her "Mommy loves you Doja"..... "I love my baby Doja" and she just looks at me and lets me hug on her for a minute, then shes on to more important things  We all know the toys can't wait!

I even sing to her, and she looks at me like I'm some kinda crazy fool! And I guess I am. I'm a crazy fool for my Doja!

You both are cracking me up b/c I do the same thing! When Cadence was sick, I used to grab her, love on her, kiss her till she couldn't stand it, and then squeeze her! She used to get tired of it and get up and go somewhere else to lay down! I always sang to her, too, usually a song with her name in it somewhere. I used to take normal kids' songs and just put her name in it over and over! I know she thought I was crazy! Now I do it to Colby and he looks at me and cocks his head a bit! I love it!

Haley, I'm glad you're news hasn't been bad. Hang in there. This still may not be cardiomyopathy. Some people and dogs' hearts are just large to begin with. Not only that, but sometimes they grow into them. My step-daughter is 7 and has dilated cardiomyopathy. When she was first diagnosed, age 6 months, they gave her a low chance of survival b/c her ejection fraction (how well her heart was pumping blood) was very low. She is doing great (knock on wood!) and her e.f. has gone up tremendously. The last visit we had with the cardiologist showed that she is growing into her heart. So please don't give up. Asia's echo doppler will show how large her heart is, and how well the blood is pumping. I work at a cardiologists' office--it's a pretty cool test to watch. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that I've been keeping you all in my prayers and I was waiting anxiously for your post. I've been so busy at work that I couldn't check the site for a day or two and feel like I've missed a lifetime!
Give Asia lots of hugs and kisses from Colby, Skye, and me!
Cadence sends her lots of angel kisses from the Rainbow Bridge.
Stay strong!

Over the past week, I've noticed Asia has become significantly more tired. She gets tired quicker than usual...she doesn't even play with whoever walks in the door for the amount of time she normally does.

It's hard to say whether this is because of her heart or if she is depressed or something? Under strict orders, the Dr. does not want us to play (inside or outside) with her or get her excited. I even asked if we could take her on short walks and I got a "No, not until we find out what this is"! We've been a very boring household! She will get excited and bring toys to whoever walks in the door, but they know not to pull back or to take it out of her mouth and throw it so she'll try with a few more toys, then go lay down. The ONLY times she has been outside since Monday are when we are walking to a car to go somewhere, or going potty. She usually gets her nose in the dirt and takes off running around, but I have had to coax her to come with me (on a leash)!

I also can't figure out if the reason she is getting tired quicker has to do with her not being exercised, or us just now noticing it. I have been getting scared over a lot of the things she has been doing, but Mark is quick to remind me that she has always done that...I just have my eyes open to a lot more problems now so I guess there are more *normal* things scaring me!

She has a great appetite, although I don't think that will EVER be a problem ...

Do you think that she could be depressed that she hasn't been playing AT ALL since Monday morning, or does it seem that it is more likely to be her heart? What does a depressed Boxer do? :( It's all so sad to see her like this, and at the same time very frightning!
