I am reading her evaluation from earlier and it says as follows:
'Heart Rate - 72 - Sub Normal'
'Respiratory Rate - Elevated'
'Pulse - Fast'
'Fainting - Yes'
'O: weight: 54.1, temp:100.4, pulse: 72, r(stands for?): 36, panting. p/e: weak, thready femoral pulse - palpable but very weak for 1 yr old excited boxer, ears are clean adn odor free, eyes are clear, coat and skin wnl, lungs wnl, mouth wnl, p is BAR (don't know what 'wnl' or 'BAR' means)'?

Does anyone know what 'wnl or BAR means'?

Haley first let me say that I just found this thread and my heart goes out to you for all that you are going through. Asia is sooooo lucky to have a mommy and a daddy that love her so deeply to do all the things you are doing for her. It is refreshing to hear that, you hear so many things in your everyday life of how people discard their animals. Everyone here at BW has been there for me many times when I would have a scare or a problem with Shakira and if it weren't for them I honestly would not have anyone to talk to that I really felt knew where I was coming from. We will remember you in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much for all the kind updates. As far as what wnl and BAR means: wnl means within normal I am not sure what BAR means maybe someone else can help you there. Hang in there, things tend to work themselves out. Asia, we will be praying that you will be able to run and play again someday real soon.

Everyday since I first saw this thread I just keep thinking what I would do in your shoes. If I couldn't be as active as I normally would be I think I would react the same way. She has made several attempts to play and has been shot down, she might think there is something wrong with everyone else. Maybe she feels that they are the ones that don't feel like playing. When ever one of my animals or skinbabies have been sick I always try to put myself in their shoes to see if there is something I could do to make them more comfortable. I'm new to this breed, I am just learning and I wish I could give you some better advice. The only thing that can be said is good luck, I hope Asia is feeling better soon, and try to keep your heads up so she will too.(they pick up on your feelings too);)

update on appointment

I have to make this quick, but just thought I would let you all know.

The DR from Banfield in Frisco just called (the one that I can't spell her name), and they found someone with a colored dopplar thingie (not good with technical names, either) in the Dallas area. They are calling us on Monday with pricing and to make an appointment!

I am relieved, but I'm sure it's not even half way over!

Anyway, just thought I'd let ya'll know! I have to run to an anniversary party now (we have a friend watching over Asia while we're gone, bless his lil' heart)! :)

I'm happy to hear that she's eating well. That always makes me feel a bit better. Its good that you guys are taking it slow, thats the best thing to do. I guess you guys just need to come up with some sort of little games that you can play together that don't require her to get up and run or anything like that. You should get some of those treat dispensing toys that require her to think and will be challanging to her but don't require any running or jumping. They have some really cool ones at Petsmart. Also, I don't know if you guys give these to Asia or not, but Doja loves to knaw on those 'hooves' from the feed store. Those keep her pretty content for hours on end. The best part is, they're only .89 cents :) Or maybe a frozen kong, thats sure to put a smile on her face. I made one for Doja this weekend, had some diced apple and banana yogurt baby food, she just loved it!

I know you said you think Asia might be a little depressed..... You guys can change that. You just need to come up with some different ways to occupy her and make her happy :) Hopefully something I mentioned will help. Let us know how shes doing

Doja and I are sending lots of sloppy wet kisses XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO and even more ((((((((positive))))))) healing vibes

Hi Hayley,
Just checking to see if you got any more news on Asia. I'm not sure if they have CareCredit in Texas, although I think it's national. It's a credit card that you can sign up for that can be used for any type of medical bills, vet, dental, human, etc. They even have some that you can get 0% financing for the first year. I would check into that b/c I know an echo will be expensive and this way, maybe you could use the card and pay it back as you can. They have a website--I'm not sure, but I think it's www.carecredit.com. That might help you out with the bills. Believe me, I know how hard it is. Cadence's chemo bills alone were over $2000!
I hope Asia is doing well. Keep us updated!
As always, Colby and Skye send her lots of sloppy get well kisses!!
