Albie, thank you for that bit of information. I didn't know what to take 'guarded' as.

I plan on waking up extra early specifically to call the Animal Diagnostic Clinic to make an apointment with Doctor Perkins. I was with Asia by myself all evening and can't stand a day to go by without at least having an appointment to know what's wrong with our baby girl.

We are heartbroken. Everything she does makes me cry. She got excited when Mark got home just five minutes ago and started jumping around everywhere and he was trying to calm her down and it made me cry. She was staring out the window earlier and saw her best friend Josie and she began to whimper (like she usually does) to go out. I had to close the blinds and I cried with her. It's been horrible.

She has been with me through some really rough times. When Mark and I were fighting (which was like the first year of our relationship) and I would feel alone, I would snuggle with her and everything would be automatically better. Life would be so empty without her, it's very scary to think about ... which we're TRYiNG not to!

She is still frisky ... we have to keep her calm! She eats everything, all the time, so her appetite is still awesome! She gets tired quick (always has - not so much tired, but just hot and out of breath, I guess) but that doesn't stop her ... so we have to!

She's just too young for all this ... as was your precious little Belle, Albie.

I'll be updating in the morning with more information about our appointment with Dr. Perkins.

I have to change something, in one of my posts, I said her 2nd birthday was in December. Shows how messed up I was that day - it is September 27th!

BaxtersMom, I know how you feel. I used to read posts here that would make me cry and I could never finish reading them, nontheless post on them. I can't believe I am the one who has to make the post this time ... it's all so surreal ...

Asia is still full of Boxer wiggles and that big georgous famous smile of hers ... she says goodnight to everyone ;)

Good night Asia girl!! Cherish each and every moment with her and just love, love, love her with all that you are. We still have all of our fingers, paws and toes crossed that this is a false diagnosis, but even if it isn't, we will all be here fighting and rooting for you, Mark and Asia. We are all boxer owners here, and we can all sympathize with each and every feeling you have for your girl......you can always post your thoughts and feelings, joys and fears here and know that we all understand and will give unconditional support. Asia, you be strong and don't get too excited, mommy and daddy are worried about you and don't want you to over do it. More (((hugs))) and positive vibes are being sent your way. Keep us posted!

Just wanted you to know that I was thinking about you today and am still sending lots of positive vibes your way. It is so scary to deal with an illness with your baby. Ty just spent 3 days at the vet with parvo and DH and I spent the whole time chewing our nails. Everyone here at BW was so supportive-it helped us to deal with the stress, and the positive stories people shared with us gave us hope. We are all here for you and are praying for your family. The BW vibes are amazing and right now there is so much positive energy being sent to Asia!! Please keep us updated on your baby and Tyler sends her a big sloppy smooch and says to stay strong Asia!

Haley- just caught this thread! I am so sorry! :(
Hopefully it is a misdiagnosis, if not, keep positive- look at Toulouses' Cody- he lived a long time after being diagnosed.
I really believe in the power of positive thinking. Stay strong- if not for you and Mark- then for Asia.
We are sending tons and tons of (((((((((((((((positive vibes))))))))))))))))) and lots of prayers to all of you!

Asia in my thoughts......

I just found this thread. I am so sorry to hear about what has happened to you over the past few months, and now this happening with Asia......

My dog Winston had seizures a few times last year. It was weird as it was while we were down at our dog club in the free run area. The first time I freaked out as I have never seen a human seizure, let alone a dog. I really thought he was dying. He had been running around for about 20 minutes when he just looked into thin air and dropped. I rushed him to the vets (by the time we got their he was fine). The vet thought it may have been to do with his heart, as it didn't sound right. We were lucky and Winston was booked into a cardiologist a couple of days later. The ECG came back fine. So the vet ordered bloodwork to see if there was anything else that it could have been. The following week, I took him to the club again and less than 3 minutes of being there (he hadn't even run around) he fell over again and had another seizure. I knew what was happening this time around, but it still concerned me as we still hadn't any answers. I took him to the vet again, who had received his blood results the day before. Nothing showed up. Thyroid and other things were tested and nothing.
I then remembered that seeing I was looking after a puppy in transit for a couple of weeks. She was on dog food and Winston was fed a BARF diet because he use to break out in hives for no reason. I thought the hives may have been due to an allergic reaction to preservatives in dog food. Since being on BARF, he hadn't had hives.
Winston had been eating the puppies left overs each morning and night for the two weeks that he was having seizures. I explained about the puppy food to the vet and the vet said that it was highly likely that Winston was having seizures because of the food.

The puppy left the next day for her new home and Winston never did have another seizure. BUT, I still worry that something else will trigger it off.

I really hope that Asia will be fine. But as others have said, if it is her heart, she has a chance that she will live a long loving life with a heart condition. Think of the now, live each day spoiling her rotten and she will love you forever.

I will be thinking of you, Mark and Asia during this time. I just hope that the vets figure out what is exactly wrong with her so that you can get on with managing it.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through this. Sending lots of healing vibes and kisses for baby Asia. Don't despair, the worst thing you can do is loose hope right now. Cardiomyopathy can be dealt with with medications and prper care. The opinions and information the doctors give regarding the prognosis of every given disease (even in humans) are just based on statistics, they are not definite nor absolute. They just give you an idea.

I hope Asia is doing alright today and that you can get in to see the doctor soon. I have been thinking a lot about Asia and your famliy recently and I hope all is going to be okay. I know that you know that we are all here for you and are hoping and praying for a happy ending, that Asia is healthy and well. Asia is such a lucky girl to have a mommy and daddy who love her so much. I know that if you are like me you would go to the ends of the earth for her. We all, here at BW, know the the love that we have for our "babies". While others my not understand, believe me, we do. I hope everything turns out for the best.
