I know what you mean! My four month old just broke one of the metatarpals in her hind food when pulling a Houdini and getting out of her crate. It's so hard to keep her still when I take her out because she wants to play with her Boxer brother. So, she's basically confined!!! I last posted that we couldn't make the Bash but found out recently that we actually will be able to attend so, now I'm really bummed that she won't be able to go. I guess it will be better to wait until next time when she's a little older. I think Louie will probably have enough fun at the Bash for both of them!
Sorry to hear that you and Bella might not be able to make it. Louie loves playing with her! I hope that she gets better soon. She's such a cutie!! Take care!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, and I hope your little one gets better soon, too. Wow... I can't imagine having another dog around here, and trying to keep Bella inactive. She's going insane with cabin fever!
She'll come up to me while I'm working on the computer and just start doing the "woooo wooooo" song..... then, if I don't pay attention.. she'll start slapping my leg wither her front paw! She's bored to death!
Anyway.. I'm holding out hope for a miracle turn-around.. but if not, I'll catch up with everyone next time. Hopefully, we'll get one more together before the weather gets too hot.

Well... she's so-so, though I'm probably not going to be able to make it. I'm so bummed. She's just not 100%, yet. But, I'm going to talk to the vet tomorrow and see. She's been off of it for almost 2 months. She's fine once she's up for a minute. It's just when she first gets up, she's stiff. So, I don't know what the vet would think about letting her dog-park it. I'm going to see what the vet says... and take it from there.
I'm sure you guys will have a great time, anyway.. even if it's just a few boxers!
I hope it doesn't get rained out. If it does... maybe we'll re-schedule for some time soon.

Anyway, I'm sorry Bella's not doing any better. I know she's just a youngun but could she have developed arthritis in her shoulder after her injury? I know that when I was 16 I developed it in my knee after a bad injury and I'm the same way, hurts when I first get up but after a few minutes it's okay.

It's possible. It could even just be some loose cartlidge that needs to be cleaned up or something. I'm sure she'd just rather I cut it off at this point.. and let her go out and play! :rolleyes:

Well it looks like we won't be making it. Chance has some stuff going on, might be Frida forcing her to play so much, she does have that mystery heart problem. I'll be talking to the vet Monday.
Donna since we don't sell kibble in the shop we were going to bring some containers we sell in the shop. We can not sell them since we don't sell dry food anymore. We figure you guys can use them at the kennel or sell them or raffle them. Jim called today, his store had 9 big bags of senior Science Diet that were expired.He was putting them in his trunk. I told him I wasn't sure if BRLA wanted them so he took them to another PAL rescue that was local. Do you guys want bags of food with expired dates? if it happens again I can hold the bags for Dana to pick up. I personally wouldn't want expired bags but Jim said they were okay. Hope you guys ahve fun, my gang really need to run off some energy. oh well next time.

My husband, Lola(boxer) and I were planning on attending the boxer bash tomorrow. What does the turn out seem to be? We live way down south, Costa Mesa and If there is going to be a little turn out we'd rather wait umtil there is a bigger turn out. Thank Lola's mommy.

Susan, I'm sorry Chance is feeling under the weather again :(
As for the food, I'm not sure if we want to take the chance on expired stuff, it would really suck to have a kennel full of sick dogs :eek: especially on adoption days. I'll talk to Dana about it though.
