Looks like the turnout is going to be very little, there seem to be a lot of furkids out of commission this month :(

We hope everyone is feeling better soon! and we'll plan another bash in a few months.

wow, thank you. I'll check our calendar and see if we have anything else going that weekend. If not I'll try and make it.

Thank you!

I just wanted to say thank you everyone who made it to the bash! I hope all the furkids had a good time.

Also, a special thanks to Lola's parents and Hazel's parents who helped me when Bud was attacked. Bud is doing well, no stitches but some of the punctures are pretty deep so we have to keep them cleaned out. The cut on his eyelid is not too bad and his eye was not scratched. The person who owned the dog that attacked Bud paid the ER bill  I was very suprised and thankful that at least the dog belonged to a responsible person.

I'll work on planning another bash for a few months from now. Take care!

Donna sorry poor Bud got attacked. Good thing my girls weren't there. They would have jumped into the fight. Frida went to a local dog park with a friends dog to run off some energy. Gave Chance, Mo and me a break. Frida might not be going to a dog park until she is spayed. She isn't in season yet but I guess the unnuetered dogs knew she was fertile because my friend said they would not leave her alone so-o-o no dog park for another 6 months.

 poor Frida, I bet she was going "hey, stop that!" to all the dogs. How is Chance doing now that she's had some rest?

Yeah poor Bud was finally having a good time and playing with other dogs and this lab he was playing with just snapped and pinned him on his back and started biting him. Lola's dad pulled the lab off and took him away from us (the owner was 1/2 way across the park). Bud was bleeding from his nostrils as well as punctures on his muzzle and under his eye :(. At least the owner apologized and paid for the ER vet visit, but I'm afraid poor Bud isn't going to want to go play with other dogs ever again.

Boxer Buddy
Donna,
Glad to hear Bud is doing ok. That attack came so fast. I was so happy to see Bud coming out of his shell and playing. That was very responsible of the lab owner to follow you to the vet and pay the bill, you never know how an owner to a pet will respond. We all had a great time there, the drive was worth it. It was nice to hang out with other boxers:D . It was a pleasure meeting you, Bridget, and Bud. As well as Hazel and her parents, and Resner and his parents. We will be checking in to see when the next Boxer Bash will be. Hope Bud has a fast recovery.

Donna you should keep rescue Remedy in your purse also Mimulus and Larch will be some good remedies for Bud. Mimulus for his fear of being attacked and Larch for confidence.

Dogs will be Dogs

Well, sorry to hear about the brawl!! But I'm glad to know that it only ended in some bumps and bruises. Glad Bud is O.K.

Dogs shake this stuff off much better than humans. I'm sure Bud will be raring to go to the park tomorrow! Bella got her face bloodied the first time she stepped foot in a dog park, and she couldn't wait to go back. lol!

Anyway.. looks like you guys had some nice weather for the get together.
Bella is still gimping around.

Glad you guys had fun aside from the fight, and I look forward to the next get-together!

Susan, thank you. Do you guys carry those remedies? If so I'll make plans to come down and see you.

Jaqui, I'm glad you guys had a good time. Please tell your hubby than you for pulling that lab off Bud. I kept trying to grab his collar but I couldn't get it.

Popps, I'm so sorry Bella is still limping. What did the vet say?

Bud's face is pretty swollen from the bites and I have found that they extend down his jowel on one side and are under his chin too :(. He's just been resting since we got home. The vet gave him an antibiotic injection as well as Amoxi. pills to take (they're huge) and we have to put ointment in his eye for the cut that is right on the lid. He just looks soooooo sad right now with his puffy little face. I'm feeling really bad for taking him to the park too. I just had a feeling this morning that something was going to happen and I just ignored it :( (Bad Mommy!).

Oh well, he'll get better and hopefully will shake off the incident. It's hard to know with a rescue how they will react after something like this because we don't know much of his background.
