Don't feel bad!
You should feel GOOD for taking your doggie to the park. He loves you for it.
These things happen, and I'm sure he'll get over it. Unless the dog is very young... they usually brush these things off. If your dog wasn't timid or starting fights before this, I doubt anything is going to change with that.
I think dogs scar MUCH more from human abuse and negect, than from a few
scrapes in a dog-fight.
Oh, also... try grabbing for the hind legs, Donna. I've pulled many a fighting dog off that way. The collar pull is a tough way to go. The best is to get two people involved.. and both grab hind legs. The dogs have no chance that way. Also helps you keep your fingers. :p
Give Bud some extra love and treats tonight. He'll forget about this by the morning.
The vet said she thought it was a soft tissue injury. I haven't been in for x-rays yet. I thought about doing it this week, but I'm giving her ONE more week to try to see if it heals. It really hasn't, so I'll do x-rays this week.
She gets around on it fine.. it's just stiff when she gets up from lying down, and in the morning. She's got a limp that ranges from very slight (when up and about for a while) .. to severe when she first wakes up. I can't get her to react to any touch-type things. (poking/pulling on it) So, I do think it's probably something deep inside her shoulder. (not good) If the x-rays are negative, I suppose I'll have to consider an MRI. (and bankruptcy!)
I guess it could be arthritis, but at 18 months!?
I'm sure it'll work out fine. I'm just losing my patience and so is she!

I can probably come by this weekend to pick up the bins (if Dana doesn't come by first).
