I am so tickled about your update. I know I stumbled across your thread a little late...but I have been so curious about Gracie ever since. It sounds like she is healing emotionally and physically. Pretty cool, Gracie girl, you sound so happy....!!!!

:)

I am going to try and do a picture shoot tonite with the three of them. :) Hopefully I get a few good ones of Grace's body...

A quick question...Grace has really dry skin (see latest weigh in post) and I am going to attempt to make it better...the vet said to give her a raw egg in her food a couple times a week to help, which I am going to do...is there anything else that we can do?? We are feeding Canidae, so I know its not the food thats causing the dry skin...any ideas??

Thanks!!

God Bless You

I am in tears as I read this post. You are both angels in disquise. How wonderful for that poor baby. I think Joy would be a lovely name. I think she will be the joy of your life and what a joyous ending to such a terrible story.

Thats a story you don't hear everyday! I hate seeing a dog like that, it breaks my heart. I am so glad she is doing so well. And being at 54 lbs, that awesome from the 17 she was. Thats incredible! Words can't describe! You should bring your furbabies to the Ohio Boxer Bash in May!

Dry Skin Help

Melissa-
There is a supplement called Lipiderm that is for heathy skin and coat. You can get it in the petstores or a lot of the online places have it a little cheaper. That really helped Capone's dry skin. I think anything with the omega fatty acids would help. Most of the premium kibbles have those in them already, but this is an added boost.

StephJ...thanks! I will see if our feed store carries it this weekend when I go...if they dont, then I think I will just order it online. Thanks!

And MyBoySamson, I was just reading the thread on the Bash in May...I dont know if I will be able to make it or not...it is kind of a far drive for us...I know its only 3-4 hours, but with two dogs that dont like car rides that much (Har and Grace) it probably would be too far for them. Harlie is the worst when it comes to rides...she gets really stressed...Grace isnt as bad but you can tell by her actions, panting, pacing that she doesnt like it much...Max on the other hand loves rides. LOL...And my hubbies work schedule sucks and they normally dont find out if they work a weekend until the thursday before...so if we do come, it would be a last minute decision. But I will think about it and talk to Josh too about it. :)

If it were a little closer to Toledo I would be going for sure!!

WOW! What a great, touching story for a movie! You'd have all the emotions covered. I cannot believe (for as much time as I am on BW) that I missed this thread. Since it is now tax season I am back to work. However, it is somewhat earlier for some to have gotten their w-2's from their employers yet, so I've had time to be on BW. I caught the thread a couple days ago and I swear it has never taken me so long to finish a thread (somewhat due to the tears welling up in my eyes and blurring the words on the screen). I wasn't able to read any on Friday. When I had read it Thursday my boss looked over at me and asked why I had tears running down my face...then he realized I was on BW. He just shooked his head and continued his work. He really is a great boss. He just thinks I'm a little boxer crazy (aren't we all).

As I was reading, I was hoping you were going to call your new addition, Jasmine (that's my babies name). But I'm really happy you decided on the name Grace (that's Jasmine's nickname).

I'm also very happy to hear your household is now a loving, playful family. All us here wish everyone in your family all the best.
