Boxer Insane
Around 2am Sunday morning we were woke up by the sound of Bayleigh coughing and gagging. About 30 seconds later, we hear a thud and I jump up, turn on the light and Bayleigh is on the floor on her side unconscious. She lost bladder control. She came to after what seemed like a lifetime but in reality was only about 30 seconds. I thought she had died. She was still gagging when she came to, but never threw anything up. She went outside, had a bm and peed. Came back in and slept the rest of the night like nothing had happened. She was fine yesterday.
The only thing we could think of was that she was choking on a piece of bone. It was nice outside Saturday and we spent the day out doing yardwork. I gave Bayleigh a rmb to chew on. She was always beside me and I didn't notice a big piece missing. She didn't have the opportunity to get into anything else.
Could she have had something stuck in her throat and choked?
I was ready to go to the emergency vet but we decided to wait. If she has another one, we will definately be going. She is due for her yearly vaccinations by the end of the month. I will be talking to her vet then, unless she has another. Fingers crossed that it was a one time thing.
