Hi everyone!! Sorry we missed the end of July Bash but we're looking forward to seeing you all in September.

OK, the Saturdays that look good are going to be 9/7 or 9/14. The park in Lakewood is Fort Steilacoom Park (directions later). It is not an off leash park and it is shared by walkers, joggers and bicyclists. However, there is an area in the far reaches of the park that "might" be good for some boxer fun.

With that, I want to get a "show of hands" from people who want to select a different venue AND who don't mind the fact that there are NO off leash parks in South Sound. We (Tim, Madison and myself) have no problems making the trip to Marymoor but I think the subject was broached that we need another or new place to be "more accomodating."

So, here's your chance to have a voice! I need to know which day works better and what location you prefer:

9/7 or 9/14
Ft. Steilacoom Park - Lakewood/Tacoma or Marymoor Park or something altogether different

The choice is yours. I will do my best to accomodate everyone BUT make no promises.

Trishia and Madison ;)

I thought Marymoor park was beautiful, but it is a LONG drive for me. Although I know this is for the Seattle-area folks, and I am the "out-of-towner," so my opinion shouldn't hold much weight. ;)

Any parks "half-way," like maybe Olympia or something? :)

Of course, you could all come down to Portland! appicon Our monthly boxer play day is this Sunday, August 11.

Right on Madison & Trishia!

Fort Steilacoom is cool with me - I grew up in Lakewood there ! Plus, Diego's 10 mo old brother will probably make it too, since they live on McChord AFB.

My date preference is Sept 7th, and I have plans already for the 14th, although still flexible right now.

Linda - you absolutely can voice your opinion since you're willing to travel. It was wonderful meeting you and Bailey, pretty girl :p! Btw, Diego and I are heading north to Canada for BC Day on the 11th in Langley. So we'll miss it again this month :(. However... Gabriel's Mom and I are planning to make it to Portland hopefully Sept/Oct when the weather and travel will be decent, or should I say dry ;)!

Ok, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the 14th is out and the 7th is it. I just discovered that I have a Board meeting all day on the 14th in Seattle, so Boxer fun is definitely a no-go for that day. That said, I think I'm just going to call it right now so get your planners and pens ready! Are you prepared?

Seattle/NW September Bash: Saturday, 9/7 at 11:30 AM, Fort Steilacoom Park, Lakewood

I'll post the directions later!!

Trishia

PS. I'll get those darned pics up from Dasia's birthday one of these days, I promise!

I'll mark my calendar

I'll put Sept. 7 on my calendar, but I'm not sure if it will work out.

Now, *our* monthly boxer play day is the second Sunday of each month, which would be Sept. 8!
How about meeting the 7th in Wash. and the 8th in Oregon?! :D

I probably ought to go to the one here, since I was the one who "planned" it and have missed it the past few months! :o

Trish - is Steilacoom park "safe" to let the dogs play off-leash? I mean, are there park rangers there who will reprimand or cite us for having dogs off-leash?

I believe Cisco and i have nothing going on the day of the 7th of September. Of course we usually dont' plan that far ahead :D however we will pencil this one in and most likeley will be able to make it!

Hmmm...i wonder how the "on-leash" park will go with D and B. I think everytime we go to the park they expect to be off-leash. :( but i have no doubts that it will be fun! Hope to see tons of mushy faced babies there! :D

Hi Linda (and D's Mom) -
I can answer this one (Trish, hope you don't mind). The answer is YES it's safe to let the dogs play off leash, and there is NO park rangers. It's that the area is not fenced, yet large enough to find our little "spot" for the kids to play. Little trailes through fields of tall grass for the girls & boys to romp around :D!. It's just that Ft Steilacoom Park is not a *dog only* park. It's an off-leash dog area, like Trish explained is shared with runners, bikers, walkers, dogs on & off leash. As far as I know, there's no fresh water source or poop bags. I'll be in Tacoma this weekend and again b/4 the month is over to check it out. Trish, we could possibly meet you after this weekend. So glad it's on the 7th, b/c I have a meeting on the 14th too!
