Boomer is our first boxer. We really had no idea what was in store for us when we got him. Don't get me wrong, I researched the breed (including reading many of the posts on here). None of that really prepared us for the antics he displays. He is really a lovable 9 week old handful.
Today I took him to our vet...another entertaining journey. We were the only customers, but the doc had an office full of vet students helping out. Since we were the only customer Boomer got all the attention, really his first exposure to socializing with someone outside of our home. He was wonderful.......very well behaved, and interested in everything.....not shying away from anyone or anything, even walked well on the leash for one of the students. The doc started removing the stitches from his nub...he didn't like that and was hard to hold still until he saw it....doc's cat. The cat was just strolling through the exam room, not a care in the world. Boomer forgot all about his nub and shot, he just stared...canting his head. When we put him down he decides he has to check that out a little closer. Big brave puppy goes trotting right up behind the kitty and starts following him right into the lobby. Cat sat down and looked at Boomer. Brave puppy looked like he was doing back flips trying to get back behind me for protection then stared at the kitty from behind my leg. He was still staring at the kitty when we were walking out.....he kept walking into things instead of watching where he was going. None of us could help but chuckle at the whole display. He was still staring at the vet's door from the truck.
Boomer - male Fawn docked and floppy (the clown)
Reggie - male Red dachshund (the boss)
Beau Beau - male blk/tn dachshund (the spoiled baby)
