Hey folks:

I certainly didn't mean to stop the suggestion train back upstream about the ol' bully sticks thing. Sorry about that.

I'm jotting down all of these suggestions. They're all greatly appreciated.

Alygator: I just happened to come across those potato popup things at one of my favorite mail-order houses. Sounds like they may be worth a try!

Let me know what you think....I may try them too. Kiki really kept busy with the frozen peanut butter bone....longer than with a non frozen treat. I like that idea.

yuk sorry i had to look. i dont think i would feed that to my dog,i know i would not want to eat it.lol I will stay with nylabones.

I swear by Nylabones. I give Ginger the hard non-edible ones. She got one almost a year ago and is little more than half chewed. I like that they are durable and last long.;)

Linda, what do you mean by "a little more than half chewed" ? If you mean its half gone, then its time for a new one. Nylabones aren't meant to be ingested because their ingredients are not safe. When the knuckles wear down or if peices start coming off that is when a new bone should be purchased :)

I just completely ended the rawhide thing too. He loved them and it kills me but he just can't do it anymore--makes me too nervous.
I got a cow calf bone at Petco last week made by Red Barn. They come hollow (where the marrow would normally be) and stuffed with flavors as well. I'm trying the empty one due to allergies. C is a heavy chewer and he's been working on it for a week. It's holding up very well--only one piece gone thus far.
If I come across anything else I'll let you know.

You guys have come up with some great ideas! Thanks so much to all of you for your suggestions.

Ozzie has an order on the way to the house via UPS. He gets so many packages from the pet store that he figures every time the UPS truck shows up with a package...well, he thinks it his....and he's right about 80% of the time!

There were a couple of recent suggestions in this thread that are--unfortunately--not part of Ozzie's order that's in the mail but I like the last several like the cow calf bone (thanks, SC's Mom!) and the hard nylabones. I'll check ol' Petco on those.

Ozzie thanks you, too. Last seen, he was out in the yard burning rubber somewhere....
