The Boxer IS a perfect dog, for some people. Not for everyone. If you hunt birds, a boxer probably isn't the best bet. If you want a dog to stay in the backyard (which i think it bad for any breed but esp the boxer) then a Boxer is not for you. If you don't want the stress and worry about Boxer "lumps and bumps" they are notoriuos for, a Boxer isn't for you. If doggy gas, eye boogers and the occasoinal slobbery kiss isn't high on your list, a Boxer isn't for you. If you don't have time or energy to spend walking your Boxer and/or playing with it a LOT then a Boxer isn't for you.
BUT: A laugh a minute, lives life to the fullest, a maximum velocity version of canine slapstick. But he is also a sympathetic soul, a shoulder to cry on, a confidante. He is all that is good in a dog. There has never been a truer statement and personally I don't see myself being owned by any other kind of dog. I have had other breeds growing up my whole life and there is just something special about the Boxer than I haven't found in any of those other breeds. My two are much more than the "family dog". They are family and are ALWAYS wherever I am with those adoring deep brown eyes and boxer smiles.
