None Aimee...I have been looking into that. Im just going to try and upgrade my civic to an acord, they fit fine in my mom's accord.

Claudia-Im commuting from Woodbridge, VA to Crystal City...you know how bad of a commute that is! It is killing me.

We are moving to the Williamsburg area this fall and I hope to find a job close to home...

We have a Toyota Camry for our 3. It's small but they don't mind. They all usually sit side by side in the back seat or all will pile up and sleep. Anytime I go near the Toyota all 3 dogs come running. They seem to think that car can't leave the drive way w/out them in it.:) If we're going some where w/ the dogs and the kids we'll take our Mustang w/ the hatch. The dogs will ride in the hatch and the kids can have the back seat. We also have a Cavalier but seldom use it for dog hauling. Only time I do is when the Toyota needs gas.;) Our other Mustang is off limits to all dogs. The only dog that has been in it was Sheeba when we picked her up after getting her ears cropped. She was still tiny and I just held her the whole way. Our Ig is the only pet allowed in this Mustang now. I'm sure the dogs would love cruisin' in the yellow 'Stang w/ the top laid back too but just can't seem to convince my husband to let them.:(

I have a Mazada Protege. One dog in the front, one in the back and then my son in his car seat in the back. My husband rarely rides with me in cases where I have the dogs with me. If he did I guess it would be two dogs in the back and Ben in his car seat.

mainly these days we just go for nature walks on a few trails near the house....that way, no car is needed.

what kind of car for a pair?!

We have an extended cab truck and a minivan and we have two grown boxer girls.

When we take the truck, the dominant (somewhat lazy) girl stretches out in the back seat and immediately falls asleep. The pacing rescue dog sits up wherever she can fit and moves back and forth from one window to the other.

When we are in the minivan, they each have their own seat and there would be room for the puppy we hope to get in the floor or crawling all over one of the girls.

The drawback to both vehicles is the type of windows in the back just tilt out. The dogs prefer to ride in the front seat of our truck or in one of our three daughters cars and stick their heads out of the window so their lips can flap in the wind.

Flashy brindle girl -- Lady Nala
White rescue girl -- Meta (the new light of our lives)
Perfect puppy forthcoming (the right one will find us)

Definately a minivan!!!

I love mine. I have a 4 cylinder and the mileage is about 25 mpg. I don't keep the middle seat in so they can stand or sit or lay down on the floor (I keep a blanket there). they can see out the windows fine, and they can get air when I open mine (I get scared when they have their heads out - think about those bugs on the windshield).

Anyway, I was always against minivans (momvans) - thought it would not be "cool". But . . . my friend who is 5'2" size 3, blond hair etc. got one and I thought hey this is cool when I was riding with her.

The van has a lot of room & options for each climate area (AWD, tow packages, etc.) look around to see what you can find - there are even "sport" packages.

Another thing is that if I find I am somewhere and need to keep them in the van, they have lots of room to move around in & I feel better about it.

Enough babbling - as you can tell I love my minivan (how queer lol).

Our two seem to like to lay all over each other even when there is room. We usally take them places in the 92 Taurus, it`s 4 dr so it`s easy to get them in. I put a large piece of cardboard with a blanket on top to make the back of the car one big seat it is definatly enough room unless they decide to try and bounce around. We also take them in our 99 F-250pick-up when the weather is bad, it`s really a trip. I`m working on getting an Explorer instead of the car.:D

I have been considering a bigger SUV myself! We have a 4 door Jimmy and Bingo loves it. The only thing I wish is that it had climate controls in the back because it can bottle the air up back there. We've thought about a mini van too because we are thinking about having skin kids, but Bingo has been in one before and doesn't like the fact that he can't stick his big mug out the window and get drool all over the side of it! ha! Whatever vehicle we have I vacum it at least once a week. Seems to be easier to get the hair that has embedded in the material. Also carry a lint brush, my Bingo sheds like there is no tomorrow! I would love a Tahoe or a Yukon but they are so expensive so we're not sure what we are going to do. Bingo's been in lots of different kinds of cars and definately likes my Jimmy the best, he doesn't have to duck either like in a car because the ceiling is higher!

I just had to jump in on this thread! I'm looking for a bigger SUV as we speak. I currently drive the Toyota Rav4 (it's a small 4 door SUV) and it gets great gas mileage, but with two full grown boxers, I NEED more room! My Mom drives the Toyota 4 Runner, and that's what I want to get in another couple of months. The gas mileage isn't as good on the 4 Runner, but I'm looking forward to the extra room (for my babies, of course:p )

I have a mini van and I took out the middle seat. So mine have lots of room to move around. The only thing I don't like about it is there's no open windows for them. Mostly Sidney sits in front hanging out the window. The kids think it's cool too to have so much room.

The other advantage of a minivan is that now Duke is older to get into it is easy, he has trouble getting into our 4runner. I realize boxers are great jumpers (Baron can jump over four feet, but as they get older it gets difficult.

Just a thought.
