Princess Arabella collapsed

After being on meds for 2 weeks there is very little improvement on her ECG. They did some more bloodwork to rule out tick borne illness. Next step is a trip to the cardiologist at UF. I noticed she isn't chasing her ball as much and she seems to be sleeping a bit more. I am so worried for my girl.

That's not great news. :( Hopefully, the visit to the cardiologist will give some insight into her condition. I am sending more positive vibes your way ------>>>

So our visit with the cardiologist was promising. The echocardiogram showed Arabella's heart was healthy and functioning as it should. Her bloodwork and blood pressure are both good as well. She is still having the arrhythmia though. She is now wearing a Holder monitor for 24 hours. After it comes off tomorrow it can take up to 10 days to get the results . The doctor said the will evaluate the best course of action after that. They may up her meds or change them all together.

Do you give her fish oil? Ours get a costco salmon oil soft gel daily. I think it helps promote heart health.
Hopefully every thing will be easy to treat.

Well, I guess that is sort of good news. :) Hopefully the holter will give some insight into her arrhythmia.

So the news is not great. In the course of a day Arabella's heart stopped several times for an average of 3.7 seconds. At other times it raced up between 250 and 300 bmp.

On the plus side her heart looks good. No physical abnormalities. So she is basically having "an electrical issue".

So for now the course of action is to increase her meds and retest in a couple of months. I feed her SOJOS dehydrated raw. I am going to start adding a bit more water to though. Not that it was recommended but just an instinct on my part. Arabella has never been a big drinker. And when I was having irregular heartbeats, it was from being dehydrated. I am just going to increase her water intake through her food. If it helps, great! If not, it won't hurt.

I am so sorry that you didn't get better news! I hope the increased water will help. :)
