My girl acts like such a princess!

"Oh no mom!! I will not get wet or get my nice white feet dirty!"

When it rains, I have to drag her outside. And then she will try to stand on anything she can to get off the wet ground, such as my AC unit, or the door ledge (both under the deck). If I take her out to the yard she whines and tries to climb on me to get out of the rain. I have tried a rain coat for her, and holding an umbrella over her, but she absolutely refuse to go potty. And then will end up going in her crate or in the house. I even kept her out there with me for 30 minutes, but no potty....

Any suggestions?? Anyone else have a boxer who does this?

Thanks!
Jenny

i don't know... my little girl won't go in the rain either, but she just holds it instead...

The first night we had her at 8 weeks old we had a pouring rain... I took her out to pee at midnight when she woke up needing to go... she took 3 seconds outside and went back to her crate... since that day, she's slept through the night ;)

I have seen those fake grass things you can buy... maybe set it up in the garage and let her use that when it's raining ?

As a side note, my little princess paws doesn't even like the dew on the grass in the morning...

Tyson also doesnt like the rain. When its raining i just let him use the bathroom in the garage and then i clean it up. Some may say this isnt a good idea, but it works for me. I would rather clean the garage, then my carpets.
Layla on the other hand doesnt care what it is doing outside. She has fun no matter what.

Griffin, my 18 week old, just last night peed on my deck. I'm guessing because it had rained earlier and he didn't want to go in the grass and get his paws wet...lol!

Oh my god...

Hugo will REFUSE to hunch over for a #2 in the rain. He went outside TWICE this morning before work and I could tell he had to go... He came back inside after the first time, did his circling routine in the living room, that was not about to happen... Then he went back out and again refused even though he needed to go!

He'll pee in the rain but NOT poop.

Hes 10 weeks now.

Haha!

Franklin (4+ months) has a love/hate relationship with rain. He doesn't like wet grass or the drops falling on him, but he LOVES the puddles. He goes out and acts reluctant and finicky and it's super hard to get him to pee. And he reacts to the drops hitting him, looks quite insulted. But then when he's done, he does that spastic excited boxer and if he detects a puddle, he goes NUTS! He runs in the water, trying to bite all the little splashes. It's so funny to watch. Unfortunately I have to have him on a leash and I can't quite run with him as fast as he'd like, otherwise I'm sure it would be a great way to burn off some energy.

Boxers are pansies when it comes to rain, water, snow, cooler temps! We had two accidents yesterday due to rainy weather! :( She was born in June and hasn't yet seen rain. My state is in extreme drought.... So when it started raining/snowing yesterday I knew it'd be bad for her! My husband was home all day, I told him to take her under the deck today.... Hope that works! (High deck)

Even at 12 y/o Tenaia hated the rain! She would glare at me & simply stop & pee on the top step outside the door & run back in to rub what little moisture she had onto the sofa! I miss her soooo much ='(

When we first brought Layla home she hated going out in the rain too. In the past couple weeks she has not seemed to mind it. I am wondering what will happen when it begins to snow.

Our Tyson hates the rain too. It's funny to watch him run to the door to go outside, quickly open the door only to see him come to a screeching hult on the deck, do a 180 and head back to the door. LOL

He's not fond of the snow either. Usually he will do his business on the deck instead of going out into the yard.

Gotta love boxers!
