Isabelle has just been attacked by two large dogs that live just up the road from us. Gunther was coming home with Belle when a woman & her daughter came out of their yard with the two dogs on leads, they both lunged at Isabelle, the women couldn't handle them!
All the woman said was 'I'm sorry'; what good does that do Belle? Poor little girl. They tore her waterproof, fleece-lined jacket off her back and have left two puncture wounds where her hip bones are. I have bathed them and will keep an eye on her this evening, as she may stiffen up a bit. She doesn't need that after all that has happened to her.
I am glad that she had the jacket on at least it was a bit of protection.

Your poor baby.
I would have given that woman a piece of my mind.
What nerve she must have, sorry doesn't really cut it when your baby gets injured.
She could have AT LEAST offered to pay for her ripped up jacket.
Some People  .

Personally I would take your baby to the vet tomorrow and make sure she is okay. You don't know if the dogs were vaccinated or not, or if she'll get an infection. I would send the woman the vet bill, and a bill for the ripped up jacket. That said I hope your furbaby recovers quickly!

OMG,

I would take her to the doctor to get an offical diagnosis. I would then present her with the vet bill and the jacket bill. I would add a little extra money for for pain and suffering. I hope that she is OK. She does not need to walk her dogs if she can not handle them.

Poor Belle! Please hug her and give her a kiss.

Please keep us posted.

We have just got back from the vet, with two spots shaved on her back. She has one gash about 1/2" long which looks quite open but he said that it is best to leave it like that as, if he stitches it, it could get infected easily, the other place is just a nick. He bathed it for her and gave her a good check over; he said that the jacket saved her from a much worse mauling.
She is now going to be on antibiotics for a few days. The assistant printed up two bills so that we can give one to the dogs owner, it was only $48.00 but that is $48.00 we didn't count on spending! I know that we have insurance but that is not the point.

Grrr people like that really make me mad!
I'm glad to hear that your Belle will be ok. I hope the ordeal hasn't been too hard on her.

Hugs to her from my 3, Belle, Copper and Holly :)

So sorry to hear that that happened to Belle. I'm fairly new here on Boxerworld but I've been following Belle's story-it's just so touching that she got a second chance at a good life and bless you for giving it to her. I'm glad to hear that she wasn't seriously injured. People shouldn't have dogs they can't control! That woman should definitely have to pay for the vet bills and the jacket, even if it didn't cost you a lot of money. It's the principle of the matter! Hope Belle's feeling better soon!

I was looking a her Christmas card and started crying after my last post. I am so glad that she went to the vet. I kept thinking of that sweet girl get attacked. I pray that the owners of the other two dogs will be able to controll them in the future. I am so glad that she had her jacket on.

i am so sorry to hear about your belle. that is horrible. i don't know what i would have done if i were in your position when those dogs attacked your baby. i am not so sure i would have been able to handle my anger towards that woman and her dogs. i hope she takes responsibility for what happened and AT LEAST pay for the vet bill.

Tes and Buttercup send their boxer love.
