Poor Belle
I hope the gashes heal well. Billy had a puncture woulnd near his hip a few years ago and hair never grew over it. So he has a 'dot' on his side. We think it was caused by a twig stabbing him as he ran through bushes.
Anyway, I hope Belle recovers soon and that you get the other dog's owner to pay at least part of the bill.

I do hope Belle is feeling better. Poor little girl.
Pete was attacked and bitten by a pitt bull at the local Bark Park. It happend in the "meet and greet" area of the park on a busy late Friday afternoon. Jack took Pete immediately to our vet (lucky they were still open) and Pete was put on painkiller and antiibiotics. Cost was $110. No stitches and Pete healed nicely.
It was over a month before Pete went back to play at the Park. Whenever the pitt would come, Jack would leash Pete and they would leave.
On New Year's Day, Jack took Pete back to the Park for a romp. The people with the pitt arrived, but did not enter the Park. Jack leashed Pete and left. The people with the pitt approached Jack and Pete and apologised profusely for the attack. They said they wanted to be responsible pet owners and had their dog neutered the week after the attack. They then handed Jack a $100 bill. He had asked for no money. Kind of renewed my faith in people.

Thanks for calling and letting me know about Belle, Helene.
Like your vet said, it's the last thing she needed after all the trauma she has been through already. I'm sure she will be the same bouncy baby she is with us humans, but it will certainly be a setback in her relations with other dogs. Hopefully she will get over it by summer and we can introduce Ttakas and Bronte to her with better results. Can't wait to see them play in your 'big backyard', just like they did with Sergeant.
