I guess my answer is not the norm here....we used to let Ronin get onto our fabric couch and chair. Now we have Leather and it's a big No No for him to be up there. It took a while for him to understand that, and I feel really bad....but the first day we got the new Furn. he put four nice long scratches in the couch :( Our fault that it happened though - we shouldn't have left him to his own devices when we left the house

I would have to say NO but SOMETIMES. Well the Husband grew up with no animals in the house where as I grew up with min. poodles everywhere, bed, lap, furniture, sharing ice cream etc. So he was against it from the beginning BUT --- when our little 11wk old girl looked at him with that pathetic look and wanted to come up in his lap ---- HE let her. So from then on she was allowed only when we said she could and she sleeps on her own Bed in our bedroom. Our Male rescue never attempted to get on the furniture. But we did discover he is a sneak and if you are gone from the house longer than about 30 min. he will push all the pillows off the couch and take a nap. He tries to jump off before you get into the house. It is quite funny. So NO to the Beds but YES to the couch and chairs but they always ASK with the look and if we say okay they come up but if not they lay on their own pillows on the floor usually with one of my skinkids laying next to them.

We let Willis up on the couch provided he is on his blanket. He has to ask to come up though (I suspect that will change the minute we trust him enough to stay out of the crate!!!) He is so cute though. He "asks" first by putting his chin on the edge of the sofa and looking up with those Oliver Twist "PLEASE!!" eyes... he looks so broken hearted if there is not enough space for him. lovicon

Fortunately for me we have an old ratty couch covered with a slipcover, which means I can easily throw it in the washer. That's fortunate for Farley too, bc it means he can get up there whenever he wants, even with muddy feet! :eek: He doesn't know the difference though.

All 4 of ours have pretty much free reign of our furniture & bed. 3 out of the 4 sleep with hubby and I (kingsize bed, but still not enough room). We have a leather couch, chair, ottoman & recliner. We purposely bought it in a brown distressed leather look, just in case of scratches. I actually perfer leather to fabric; much easier to clean.

All of my animals are allowed on the furniture. The skin kids do more damage than they do. LOL

Buster comes on the bed, has his own spot on the sofa, hey he's even jumped in the shower. So ya he's aloud any where we are. Look at the face, how can you say no to a face like that.
