Gunther loves to sit at the end of the couch and hang his head down over the armrest, or else he uses the armrest to help prop him up. But his first choice is cuddling with Mommy on the loveseat (didn't they design these for us and our furbabies?). Gunther has his own bed in our bedroom, but he sneaks in bed with us after we are asleep and that's o.k. with me. The BF said to me the other day "Gunther should probably learn to stay off the furniture because you're going to want to buy new furniture sooner or later." But later to me is way down the road and I will ALWAYS have a loveseat for me and Gunther to cuddle on, anyways.

Well, yes and no...

Booboo and Courage are allowed on the couch all day long in the family room, but never on the leather couch in the living room.

They are allowed to snuggle with us, wrestle with each other, and escape the cat's claws on our bed, but they are no longer allow to sleep with us at night.

How they keep track of it all I don't know, but they follow the rules.

I allow them on the furniture. They get on it as soon as I am out the door anyway so why make a big deal about it when I am home. :)

I let Ali on the furniture, but my BF really doesn't like it. But I love it when he comes on the couch and cuddles with me. It makes for a great night!!

Sammi runs things around here...she just allows me to think I do :)
We bought a new LR set last year, which we liked because it has slipcovers. After having to dry-clean the slipcovers very soon after delivery, I made machine-washable slipcovers...for the dry-clean only covers!

...only when I need a cuddle. I bought a "sofa scram" from Drs. Foster and Smith. It emits a loud noise when Tae tries to get up on the sofa. I turn it on whenever I leave the house. One day I returned home and while unlocking the door heard a very loud, almost piercing noise. I realized it was coming from inside. I opened the door and Tae greeted me as if nothing was going on. I could not, for the life of me, figure out where the sound was coming from, but it did sound familiar. Finally, I figured out that she had attempted to get on the couch and pushed a pillow on top of the sofa scram. There's no telling how long that thing was making noise. I felt so bad b/c her hearing is so much better than mine and it was an awful noise! Usually, it just emits a little beap, which is enough to deter her!
