i know, all too well, how hard it is to lose our kids but i try to remember that in losing them...we make room in our heart for another.
when the time is right.......you will make the decision and jump in with both feet.

You'll know when the time is right for another baby in your family. After we lost our last shepherd, we actually considered no more dogs. He was absolutely my baby and I just couldn't face the inevitable passing of another pet. After 3 months it just wasn't the same without a dog in the house, so quiet, no one following me around and no riotous greeting at the door. Then we found out a friends daughter had a 3 mo old boxer that was "too much" for them to handle and they wanted to rid of her. It was like fate - here's your answer to the puppy question. Oh my, she's been the terror and aggravation and light of our lives for almost 7 years now. One day you will just think - it's time.

Adopting a rescue is such a wonderful thing. After I lost Harley, I didn't know what to do either. I decided that in honor of him, I would adopt a rescue. To me, the whole adoption process was a tribute to Harley and how special he was. Because I had the good fortune to have had him in my life, I would give one of his kind a 2nd chance. This felt more right to me than anything and I am so happy that I did it I hope you choose to share your lives with another soon as the feeling of saddness you have just means that you have a lot of love to give and Josi would be happy to see you smile again.

Just wanted to wish all my wonderfully supportive friends a Happy Thanksgiving! Josi loved the food from this holiday so please give your rugrats a bit extra for her.
