Staci, you are so inspiration and strong, and you are truly to be admired. I can't imagine writing so eloquently during this hard time, but you've made us all a member of your family, and I know we're all grateful to have been able to share Ms. Josi's remarkable story.

What a boxer!! She's incredible. You go, girl, and enjoy living out your life to the fullest. You certainly deserve that and so much more.

Guess my Nellie, Diamond, and Coco will have to wait a bit longer before they welcome Ms. Josi to the bridge. That's good - they can wait.

WOO-HOO for Ms. Josi!!!!!!!

Reading that Miss Josi is steadily improving makes my heart glad. Enjoy these wonderful days with her, and don't beat yourself up for having to continue with life. Some things are just meant to be, and no amount of hoping/wishing will ever change the outcome. As always, prayers are being said, and good thoughts are contining to be sent your way.

I have been working on two training exercises today (this is kicking my butt), and will soon start a chapter assignment for a computer class I'm taking. Not sure if I will be able to check back in until very late tonight, but I will be thinking of you.

When we were at the end of the road with Rocky, we did ALMOST as much as you are doing for Josi (I never made him mashed potatoes! Wish I had). For those times he refused to eat I would give him "Nutri-Cal" - which is just syrup but Rocky loved it. I think we went through 20 tubes of the stuff at $8.00 a piece - but you just don't care about anything but your baby.

Thinking of you Josi.

In the moment, as I read through your post, Staci, I just have to chuckle and be happy for Josi - she's with her Mommy and Daddy, and she's got FOOD...GREAT food!!! Along with her Warrior spirit, this is a winning combination. Carry on, Josi Girl! lovicon

Duke's Mom

Staci,

I love it!!! Rules go out the window during this journey! Duke's last meal was Chick fil a nuggets on a Saturday night...he had gotten where he refused cheese, peanut butter, and turkey breast meat-all his favorites! We were just happy he decided the nuggets looked so good. Your Josi is one strong warrior. I am so happy that you have made it this far in your journey. Tears run down my face as I write this because I only had 5 weeks with my Duke after we found out he had Lymphoma. Make every moment count and just love on that little girl.
I am glad you enjoyed the 4paws website. I always feel good when I spend my money somewhere where they give back to the community (especially dog shelters)! and something good for the planet can be done in honor of my special boy.
I was very touched when our vet made a donation to our local humane society in Duke's name. We even received a card from the humane society to confirm it. It just proves how much a Boxer can touch a person's spirit. His vet's office LOVED him.
Please know you & Brian and "Warrior Princess" Josi are in our thoughts & prayers. Please keep us updated.

Before my amusing post I have to say that Josi very much enjoyed her mashed potatoes and so did I. Her daddy is on his way now to Tony's Ice Cream (a famous ice cream shop here right outside charlotte) to get Josi and Mommy a kiddie scoop to share! Anyhow for my story...so Brian was out front washing his car and I decided to give Josi a change of scenery and we relocated in front of the glass door and watched him and the nightly happenings on the street. So when he was about finished I let her out front to take care of business. Well Warrior Princess had other plans and started trotting off like she was going to walk herself down the street:) I went off behind her saying what are you doing and tried to trap her in the grass, but to no avail...Brian and I just looked at each other in astonshiment and said that's our girl. Josi did quickly get winded in this deathening heat here and waddled back inside to start crying for her next meal~so bossy! Through all that she has and is currently going through, she continues to fight on and literally live each minute to the fullest. As we currently await our return of ice cream she is now rolling over onto her back from the froggy position, could she possibly be trying to imprint in my brain one more time all the things I love about her most...who knows, but I have to say right now I am actually loving every minute:) Gotta go daddy's home
