Completely Boxer Crazy
I had to run into to work for a little this morning unfortunately, but daddy stayed home with her until I got back. I feel so guilty leaving her at a time like this, but I know she enjoyed her one on one time and I have to come with grips that no matter how much I want to be there with her for her last breath, things don't always work out that way for all sorts of reasoning. When my mom was in a hospice home dying from multiple sclerosis, I sat bedside watching her every breath hoping each day would be the day so she would no longer be suffering. It was horrible to see, but in a way I think it has prepared me some for what is to be with Josi. The morning my mom passed all seemed to be the same and I told my dad that I was stepping out of the room for a minute to grab a cup of coffee in the lounge. I didn't even make it to the coffee pot before I heard my dad yelling for me to come back. In the few seconds I was gone, she chose to take her last breath. I firmly believe that she waited for me to leave the room and that is how she wanted it to be. I'm going to take the same belief that if Josi is to go on her own terms, she will call the shots and I will accept whatever her wishes shall be.
Now on to a lighter note...daddy scrambled Josi up some eggs for breakfast this morning and she has also gone through two of her usual chicken thighs, chicken hearts, and vegetables meal. We have also been experiencing an unbearable heat wave over the last week with temperature easily hitting 100 which makes life miserable for Josi just to go outside and take care of business. I wish it was cooler so I could put a bed for her outside and she could take in all the outdoor smells and the sun's heat, but that is out of the question. It remains in the 90s even in the late evenings. Right now she is taking a nice nap and I surrounded her with many of her favorite toys from her toy box. She wasn't the slightest bit interested in playing, but she hasn't really been ever since she came home from the hospital six months ago. It still is a sight to see and it reminds me of the movie ET when he is in the girls closet hiding
I am noticing that Josi's bruising seems to be localized to the left side of her body when you are looking straight down on top of her. Not too sure what that means, maybe that is the side the liver is on. Her paws continue to look and feel better. With two almost completely back to normal and the other two still fairly swollen underneath but they are much softer now and not so hard by touch, but on the tops you would even notice swelling unless I pointed it out and her fingernails are shining through again. I definitely have to agree that she is living up to her name and I am glad that she is doing part of Grunt's name proud
Well gotta go...she is demanding that I share with her my mini-bagel with chicken salad on it. I will post again soon.

). Your love and her will to fight just shine through in each and every one of your posts. I just hope and pray that if I am ever in the situation you have found youself in with your girl I am able to muster up half the strength you have shown throughout your whole ordeal. You both are truley an inspiration not just to us as boxer owners but to the human race in general. Please give Miss Josi a hug and a kiss from Chance and myself and please know that all of you are always in our prayers and thoughts
