Super Boxer
hi staci
we're back from training class. we've all eaten dinner (boxers included) now we're all wiped out because it was 85 degrees in the training building. hubby and i are totally drained and so are Liam and Moby. me more so. i really don't get along with 100 degree temperatures. i was soaked with perspiration (sorry for the graphic but i really don't like the hot weather. Zuki was the lucky one...she doesn't go to training anymore; she's been retired since she's been 5
she stayed home in the A/C and i'm glad to be home now, too....sitting on the couch with the A/C cranking and the laptop (wireless is a wonderful thing!).
happy to see your posts about josi holding her own! every new post from you...i half close my eyes because i'm afraid to read it. but usually, after the first few words....i get the "feel" of the post and sort of know that josi is still with us here on earth. whew!
the bruising....our vet explained it as 'overflow'. he said when there is a significant bleed the blood has nowhere else to go but to the surface since the body can't reabsorb it fast enough....hence the bruising. we always referred to it as bruising....and so did the vet but in my own mind, before we went thru dakota's illness...i always associated a "bruise" with something that was tender/painful to the touch. when i touched dakota's "bruising" it never seemed to be painful. i guess, maybe, they refer to any blood at the surface of the skin as bruising...be it painful, tender or not. the swelling/edema going down i would assume is somewhat of a good thing. the body reabsorbing it, maybe?
i wonder if, like people, the bruising is going to be worse a day or two afterwards. like if you slam your finger in a door...it will be bruised that day but the bruise gets worse before it starts gets better. that's the only thing i could think of.
now that i'm thinking about it...dakota's initial bleeds would cause bruising and it would always look so much worse even after the bleed seemed to subside. i guess before his body worked it out.
i don't think you are having any false hopes! i think you are just relieved that josi is feeling half-way decent enough to beg for waffles!!! i think the waffles on the floor is great!!!! we would do something like that, too.
i have to tell you...you and brian are being as stoic thru this whole ordeal as josi has been. although you are being realistic about josi's condition...it never hurts to find comfort in any sign that she can give you that tells you she is comfortable.
as always.......sending hugs and kisses to josi.
and we fully expect that she receives them x5 (one from me, one from hubby and one each from Zuki, Liam and Moby)
will check in again before heading to bed.
