Your thoughts and healing vibes have been well received from Josi...please continue to keep her in your prayers. We heard from the doctor around three that her condition was very grave and didn't know if she would make it and that we should come up there immediately. Her spleen was leaking a tremendous amount of blood causing massive internal bleeding. We drove up there thinking that we would have to be saying our goodbyes until the internist gave us a glimmer of hope, that if she could make it through surgery to remove her spleen she may survive. They found a tumor on the abdominal ultrasound on the spleen and did an aspirate, but couldn't get any definitive information as to whether it was cancerous. With that little bit of hope we opted to give her a fighting chance and the surgeon who actually performed one of her TPLOs took her in. In less than an hour we heard back from him that she was out of surgery and resting. He said she was filled with blood and her blood pressure was extremely low, but her heart remained strong and they were going to give her a transfusion to help her through the night. He stated that he did not see any other tumors on her other organs when he was in there and the one in her spleen was small. They will be sending it off to pathology tomorrow and are hoping to get it back by Friday before the holiday's arrive. I know she is not close to being on the road to recovery yet and if this is a mast cell and it has spread her prognosis is not good...but for the time being we are thinking postive thoughts that she will be back home with us soon so we can spoil her rotten some more. I am praying that my phone doesn't ring tonight and I can go see my baby again tomorrow morning. I can't thank you all enough for your love and support and I promise to give Josi kisses from each and every one of you.
