Ok well a little update on Roxie again, I'll post pictures when I get to my computer. She is getting real close to 50 pounds already. She was about 48 pounds at her Monday vet visit.
She is already starting to naturally get protective of the house. A couple of times she has gotten startled by somebody or something she sees out of the front door and she starts off making these little "woofs" that after a minute or so turn into a full on bark/howl. One time I had her in the backyard at night, and I went in the front yard to take the trash out and she didn't know I was out there. When she heard me making noise she started barking softly ("woofs" again) and then after a couple, she ran to the gate barking until she saw me.
We are really happy that she is starting to do this because just last week somebody tried to break into our house. Really scary because I work midnights and my wife was alone with only roxie. She didn't hear it or anything. But when I got home from work at 5:30 am. She noticed the back screen door was ripped. I instantly blew it off, saying it must have been roxie because she jumps on the screen when she wants in. But I have a security camera system, so I went and checked the footage. That is when I saw a man standing at my back sliding door at 1:15 am pull out a steak knife from his pocket and start cutting our screen. After he cut it, he reached in and tried opening it but eventually gave up and tried another door. He then gave up on the other door and left. All within 5-6 minutes. Super scary for us, especially with me gone and my wife alone. So Roxie learning this protective behavior now is good news for the future to us. But for now, I added two more cameras to my house, and I also just bought an alarm system.
With all that bad/scary news out of the way, I'm going to post some new pictures of her when I get on my computer. She's gotten big so fast.
