Not treating cancer?

Just wondering how Fluffy is doing?

She is doing ok. She is still eating great and seems happy but the tumor is growing fast. Her little bum is really starting to stick out. It’s very depressing because it’s really her only major symptom. I know this sounds weird but I was expecting more of total decline (especially since the cancer had spread to her lymph nodes). I’d hate to put a dog to sleep that still has so much life and sprit but if the tumor keeps growing I’m afraid she will have problems pooping. If she cannot go potty that would be awful for her. Right now she still poops ok but the tumor seems to be growing daily so I am just anticipating the worst. I just cant picture putting her down with her big silly grin still there and her bright eyes...

Im sorry to hear the tumor is growing it must be so tough on you but its great that she is still in good spirits which is showing in her eyes as once they are bright she is feeling fine. You will all be in my thoughts , sending lots of feel good <<<vibes to Fluffy>>>

While this would be so hard for you, it might be the best thing for her in the end. :( She would still have her dignity and happiness until she passes.

My parents just put my 13 year old GSD down last week. She was acting off all weekend, went to the vet on Monday and was diagnosed with advanced hemangiosarcoma. By Wednesday morning she was completely confused, incontinent, and in pain. I wish we had put her down on Monday when she still had dignity and wouldn't have spent her last 2 days in pain.

I hope Fluffy's tumor stops growing and she will be around for a quite a while longer for you and your family.

I hope for the best for Fluffy and you. Thank you for this post...my Lucy (almost 12) and I have been going through this situation ourselves since last Sept and this thread has made me feel better about the decisions I have made not to aggressively treat her suspected lung cancer. We went the chemo route with our first boxer, Bailey, and I have no regrets about that...was right for that situation, but I truley believe had we tried chemo or radiation with Lucy, she might be gone by this point. She, like your Fluffy, has a lot of good days in her. The biggest problem I see is she can not keep herself from trying to keep up with the younger Fred (our male boxer, now 4). I hate to see that saddness in her face when she seems to realize there is something wrong. Thanks againg for sharing your experience.
