Nicknames and why?

I was just wondering if anyone else has nicknames for thier boxers? I seem to do this with every dog in my family and I was just wondering if I am crazy or not. Kaens nickname is "Face" and he responds to it just as well as Kaen... I call him Kaen Face or Face when we are being goofy and playing and he seems to love it, cause he always butt wiggles when I say it to him . Keylos nickname was Ju-Ju Bear and I have no idea why .

Also since I am new to this board I was wondering if anyone could do a quick run down of the slang you all use here for me? I know what boxer burn is and I think it is hilarius that they all do it, but the rest I wonder about like DH and DW? Thanks in advance and I love the board even if it tears me up at work sometimes.

Welcome to BW! I used to think DH meant dumb husband! LOL Come to find out it's "dearest hubby" or "dear hubby" or something to that effect. I would imagine that DW would be "dear wife" then. Certainly not dumb wife! LOL LOL is laugh out loud and I use that one a lot around here!

As far as the nicknames, I call my little Jake "sweet pea." I used to call my daughter that (she's now almost 14) and she complained that Jake took her name! I call my cleo "wiggle butter" which I sure dont have to explain to a Boxer owner! It's really wiggle butt - er but I just say butter like the spread!

I still get stuck on some of the abbreviations but this is a start for you!

Tofee has several nicknames: Tof (shorter), Tof-Tof (my friend came up with this), Baby Girl/Doll (because she was), One White Toe Girl (because she is), and Floppy Ear Girl (because she is). She answers to all the shorter ones, and I wouldn't really expect her to answer to One White Toe Girl or Floppy Ear Girl, as I usually call her those when we're being silly together.

Mason's got a ton - buda, paco, buda butt, pumpkin head, UB, buddy, and I'm sure there's more I'm just not thinking of. I'm not sure where most of them came from either, they just kind of appeared and then they stay!

We call Titus a few names too...he comes to ti-ti and ding dong pretty well...but my favorite is fat boy-even though he isn't fat, he is a food hog!

My girls all have nicknames. I can't help it, I give nicknames and make up silly little songs to sing to them, usually to the tune of some catchy commercial.
Ginger is Ginger-baby (obvious where that came from), Ginger-mamma (cause she's the oldest), Ginny, Barky, Spazmanian Devil, Stoney (one of her inner eye lids is white), Slim Stoney, and of course every now and then, Bad Girl.
Roxy is Roxy-girl, Woxxy (think of the muppets Wakka,Wakka), Smoochy-Poochie (her lips are always puckered), Lamb-Chop (for some reason I'm always thinking of her as Mary's Little lamb), Miss Roxy, My Baby, and of course every now and then, Bad Girl.
Foxy is my Pomm/Chiu mix (I call her a Chiapom) and she's Foxy-Lady (thanks Jimmi), Lil' Fox, Foxy-baby, and of course every now and then, Bad Girl.

BTW - none of them are really bad, only when they get into the trash or eat the bread.

The nickname for my Kala is PoopersAHHH! No particular reason other than is sounds funny and it has stuck (not literally).

 

[Konah's Mom]

Konah's is "Konah bear the sqwooshy face boo man" (aka konah bear) for obvious reasons....he has a sqwooshy face and he's white. You have to say it in a silly voice and sqwoosh his face up when you say it. *L* I swear if he could roll his eyes he would, "Mom please! not in front of people!" but he wags his nubbins anyway. I just love him.

 

[Sirus'Mommy]

Sirus has so many nicknames that everyone calls him...I'm surprised that he remembers his REAL name.

Mommy calls Sirus: Creep, Creepy, Creep-a-leep (don't ask me how I got that one! I think I may have been drunk!), Shyrush, Squishy Face, Cootie, Booger Face, Freak, Fatty ( which he is not...at all! ), Pal, Pretty Boy, and Monster.

Daddy calls Sirus: Buddy, Monster, and Squishy Face.

Auntie Sonya calls Sirus: Monster, Freak and Crazy Dog

Uncle Shawn calls Sirus: Psycho Sirus
