Nicknames and why?

I was on another board and saw people saying DH this and DH that. I knew it didn't mean what I call my EX hubby.. (it still means d!ckhead for him though lmao). It all made sense once I found out what they meant by it

How funny! I love hearing the names people use! We call Baxter "Gorilla" and I always call Baxter and Mattisse "Sweet Boy". Mattisse also gets called "Sixes" for his behavior sometimes!

Boomer has heaps of nicknames: Boomey, Bubba, Poo-Bum when he's cranky (Poo for short), Bubby, Boofhead, Boofa (my husband calls him this), Mr Magoo (or Magoo for short), or sometimes a combo like Poo Magoo..he responds to most of them too!
Abbey my rotti has nicknames like: Ab, Abba, or Miss Abbey..she also responds to most of them.
Thank goodness I'm not the only one who comes up with a whole heap of weird nicknames for my dogs..especially ones that don't sound anything like their names... like Magoo my nickname of the moment for Boomer!

I think Boxers are those types of dogs that HAVE to have nicknames They are just tooooo cute!
Laila's nicknames are Pretty Girl and Laila Girl.
Dozer's are Booger and Doze-Doze. I used to call him Pooper, but my hubby didn't like that one too much (I can't image why!)

[Super Boo]

My dogs love their nicknames 'cause they get their real names when they're in trouble:eek:

Skye is Ski, Skeeters, Ski-monster, Ski-doodle

Boo is La-La (like the teletubbies), Mi-Mi (mini me-me), Mi-Mi-La-La, etc

I think anything I call them in a high pitched baby voice gets them going (and kidney-beaning) . Only when I call their names in a normal voice do they know it's serious and to pay attention.

Well....

Well, since Mush's name already sounds like a nick-name, we just call her that, unless she's having one of her special bounce around the house days, then we call her Mushsky Pushsky - Russian Spy Dog.......and I have no idea why, but we say it with the same accent that Natasha from Rockie & Bullwinkle had. Other than that....I can only think of one other and that's just Muss.......And I know I don't have to tell you how we came up with her name right? It's all about those lips......those mushy mushy lips.....

I too have nicknames for my "kids" Rocky Balboa is everything from The Rock to Smoochie cakes (due to the fact that it is unwise to talk, yawn or open your mouth anywhere near that giant boxer tongue - gives a whole new meaning to French Kiss) and my pup, Lucy whose given name is Lucy Lu of Suevan Manor is Lucy Lu Who or Baby girl and quite often Lucifer

I call Gunner "G-Doggie-Dog" and Quinsi "Q-Dog". I guess they are a pair of Gangster Rappers.
