nyc bash

hey e

I have never been to a boxer bash, but I have been to dog runs. The dogs do run free, but it is fenced in. My dog roc does not listen all the time either. I am also from LI so I dont know where the dog run is exactly. You should bring lily and ruby they will love it.

Okay so we know it's going to be on the 25th of this month, but we still haven't decided time of day or which run? Maybe we just need someone to make a decision:p In the meantime, I'll make a proposal...how about the Beekman's Run at, let's say, around 9 in the morning? (of course, 9 at night works just as well for me.)

Beekman works for us & 9:00 AM sounds great. However we do have a few fine folks from the outskirts so if that is diffucult please voice your concerns and an alternate time. I need to confirm the actual "official" name of the park which I will do tonight or tomorrow and post the details. The park can be accessed from 51st street just off 1st avenue, The street is a dead end. Walk to the end of the street and there is a flight of stone steps you need to walk down...Be careful as you know your Boxer can be quite strong and excited when he / she sees something they like. I will also confirm the other entrance and parking as well. There are benches and tables with plenty of room just outside of the run if you care to bring a cooler / snacks. The run has a fresh water faucet and a roll of plastic bags for the obvious !!! The run also has a double gate for safety and plenty of shade.

So we are all set for next Sunday the 25th at 9am at Beekman! How exciting! We are bringing Prince and possibly coming with our neighbor who has a 5 month old pup named Nero...so we'll see everyone there and we'll just keep checking back for the confirmation of the name and location of Beekman...

can't wait to meet everyone and their cute, wiggly boxers!

PS- just some hints for those of you who are interested...don't forget to bring a plastic/disposable bowl (old tupperware or something) for your pup so he can drink since there is water available...and it's always good to have treats and toys (balls, etc.) on hand. we plan on bringing human snacks too...but if you do also, remember to bring it in something that the pups won't be able to get into...like a cooler or something other than a plastic or paper bag- we know how nosy and resourceful our boxers can be! :p

Bentley and I will be there! He'll be modeling his new harness, which is the very height of Boxer fashion. We should add a clause to all this, which is that if it's over 90-some degrees (which it shouldn't be so early in the morning) or torrential rain, everyone should stay home and we'll sort out a backup date. Agreed? See everyone there!

Hey guys! I checked out urbanhound.com, which is a great site for the NYC dog owner by the way, and the "Beekman Pl. run" is called Peter Detmold Park at E. 49th and FDR. It has a nice write up on the website so I'm excited to check it out. Noah, yeah if it's raining then I'll most likely stay at home. PLEASE God let it start getting cooler!
