NYC Bash at Beekman

Just wanted to say hi and can't wait for Sunday. TOCONNELL and I will be there with Rudy @ 9 a.m. Hope to see many of you there!

Sunday, August 25th
9am
51st and Beekman or 49th and FDR
Peter Detmold Park

The 51st entrance - Walk to the end of the street and there is a flight of stone steps you need to walk down. There are benches and tables with plenty of room just outside of the run if you care to bring a cooler / snacks. The run has a fresh water faucet and a roll of plastic bags for the obvious !!! The run also has a double gate for safety and plenty of shade.

Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say that me and Daniel and Boaz had a blast this morning! It was SO great to see so many gorgeous boxers. It's pretty funny that we all have male fawns:p Boaz has been sleeping ALL day since we got back, which is a very, very good thing. Anyway, it was great to meet y'all and I can't wait for the next one. (Boaz will be old enough to get down and dirty with the big boys then!) Oh, and thanks to everyone who came from outer boroughs and even LI! Cya on the board...

I also just wanted to say Mojo and I had a great time. It was so much fun to see the turn out we had. It is especially exciting because i very rarely see other boxers. It was a treat! i took some pictures and if they turn out OK I will post them on this site. I'll keep you updated, because it was very hard to get them together or still!!! Let's definetly plan another.fiestaicon

Great Time Had By All

On behalf of Rudy and our family we wanted to say thanks. The bash was alot of fun and it just goes to show you how Boxers do know their own kind. I think everyone agrees that we should have another event so how about late October...lots of leaves to chase and eat and the weather is crisp. Let's leave the Halloween costumes to those little, yelping, toy dogs ( no offense) to owners of the little ones. Any thoughts ?

PS- Best wishes to Prince who goes for the "fix" on Tuesday. Let us know how it goes and we will keep you in our thoughts....Noah thanks for the fyi on the laser surgery , Rudy and I will check it out.

Roc, my wife and I had a great time at the bash. It was well worth the trek out to the city. We should definetly plan another one.
See you guys soon!

October sounds perfect to Bentley and I. Then again, we're always up for a rockin' boxer hoedown. The laser thing is in lieu of regular stitches and sutures, I think - it heals faster. Don't know how many vets use it - I was surprised my parent's vet in rural Ohio did. Best of luck to the Princinator - Bentley sends a sympathetic 'been there, done that, forgiven my owner' "Bow Wow."

Nice meeting everyone - hope to see you all again!

THE BASH

I would like to say Sampson had the most terrific time! It was really a treat to meet everybody on Sunday! We had a blast. We are really excited for the next one and we hope by then Sampson's ears will be standing with no tape It is quite funny that I was very opposed to getting a boxer and now I can't imagine never owning one... (my husband is going to die when he reads that remark). Anyway we will see you all very soon. Once againt it was a pleasuring meeting everybody!

I live in MD, but travel to NY (Staten Isl) to visit family occasionally. It would be great to be able to exercise my boxer while I'm there! I guess I'll just try to get in touch with you and the other New Yorkers when I visit next.

Just post a notice here when you're going to be in the NYC area again (give us a little heads up) and maybe we can organize the next big Boxer Bash so you can make it.
