I agree that Robert's may be a bit small...there were four of us last time and there was plenty of room, but if more people are planning on coming, it may be a little tight, even though it has a great location.

We are coming from Queens, so anywhere in the city is fine with us...i like the idea of having shade and water for the pups, so maybe Beekman would be a good idea. i too don't care for the wood chip ground, but if there is more room and shade and water, we (and the dogs) may be better off there...what do you guys think?

We have not been taking Prince to the park because of the heat, so i think an early morning or an evening time would be good. but that may be a hassle for people...any opinions on time?

Rachel :)

Hi everyone! I'm new to Boxer World, and to boxer parenthood:) I would LOVE to bring Boaz to the bash in August but he'll only be about 9 weeks. It may not be safe. But if I can't join y'all in August then I guess we'll just have to have another one in the fall!

I'm so excited that someone got the NYC bash going! I live in Hell's Kitchen and see a few boxers here and there. I'll spread the word if I get the chance. Take care!

Boazdad,
Good Luck with the new pup ! Rudy is about 5 months and we are having a blast. Rudy missed the last one because he was a little young but I encourage you to attend on your own and visit with the rest of the gang and introduce yourself. I don't have to tell you how beautiful Boxers are and the owners aren't half bad either !

Quarter-bad, maybe.

Talk to your vet and see what he/she says - maybe it's safe to bring the little guy if he's had his early shots &c. If not, definitely come sans puppy. And bring pictures!

Thanks guys! Yeah, I'd love to be there even if I can't bring Boaz along. I hope, though, that I get a thumbs up from my vet. That would be so much fun:D ...and interesting, considering it would also be Boaz's first dog run experience:p

nyc bash

hey everyone,
im newly registered to this site and i never posted before. Im from L.I. and cant wait until the event. Our dog Roc is fourteen months and cant wait either. They have some big dog runs on LI but it is probably too far. I wish we had a bigger back yard sorry.

Hey Joe! Welcome:D That's great that you and Roc are gonna come, looking forward to meeting you guys. I've decided I am going to come and bring Boaz too, even though he'll be young. From everything I've read on BW, the importance of socialization outweighs the minute risk of sickness or infection. SO...see ya there:p

this should be fun!!! we are so excited that so many people are coming.

so we agreed on the date: Sunday, August 25th.

Did we decide on a place and time?

Don't think we did. It could be hot, so I'm thinking eveing or morning...what do you guys think?

August 25th

Both morning and evening are good for me. Whatever:p And as for where, the bigger the run the better. The Beekman Place run sounds good to me!

Ooh...I'm glad I checked the forum today. Just have some questions since, we've never been to one, do all the boxers run free off leash at these bashes? Is the park fenced in? I would love to bring my two there but Lily is still needs to work on listening better. Also, is there parking nearby? I'm not too familiar with the exact location of the city. Thanks all.
