Hello. I live in Texas in the USA, and I have a 3 1/2 month old brindle boxer named Delilah. I have never had a dog before Delilah. My brother had a dog when we were children in a small town without leash laws. My only experience with boxers was when his mutt would fight with the neighborhood boxers which made me fear boxers. My husband had a boxer on his farm when he was a boy many years ago. Neither of us has ever trained a dog. Puppy training is proving to be a challenge, but Delilah is so intelligent and learning so much, despite our inexperience. We are using positive training because that's what I have strongly believed in as an educator and a parent. I read books, watch The Greatest American Dog series and It's Me or the Dog series, and look forward to reading articles and forums here to help me with Delilah. She is a delight and has brought laughter and exercise into my life. I want her to be a well-behaved dog and know that training is essential.
