My family recently purchased a male brindle boxer. Now we don't know what to name him. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have the pup? Sometimes a name doesn't come to you until you get your baby. Then something that fits him will just stick.

We had some different ways of picking out names. We were coming home from seeing Max and were listening to some of DH's CDs. He was really quite then all of a sudden he said,"I know what his name should be. Maxwell Silver Hammer." Of course we were listening to the Beatles.

Then we told our Grandson he could pick Riley's name. So, my Grandson would walk around the house saying names. We kept a list of his favorites. We went to pick Riley up and my Grandson said, "Come on Riley let's go home." That is how Riley got her name.

I made a list of names I liked, and then listed them here. Between the input from people here, and really testing them out by saying, "Stay, Cash!" and "Come, Cash!" and things like that (my DH thinks I'm crazy, have I mentioned this? ;) ), that's how we decided. :)

Good luck! :)

I did an online search for names, first how they sounded and then secondly what did they mean. Would I feel ridiculous calling them in public was also a consideration. I also wanted a name that was unique and not very common either. I came up with this: Kirra = dark lady, she is my brindle baby with a black mask and her name fits her to a T. Torin = Chief, he is my fawn boy with a blask mask - he is certainly living up to his name when he's not acting like wingnut :). There are tons of sites out there - good luck.

Since the Boxer originated in Germany (and I'm 1/2 German), I did a web search for German names, and decided on "Maximilian". Names I also considered were: Dietrich, Ludwig, Manfred and Sebastian. Some common German dog names are: Bruno, Felix, Heinz and Rocky.
