Thanks for the update on Baxter. Sounds as though he is doing remarkably well given the prognosis many monthes ago. He sure is a luicky boy to have such a loving and caring family who would go to the end of the earth to help him with his illness.

You know the positive vibes are still coming your way from the two of us. Hang in there Baxter.

Thank you for the continued support. Your kind words mean a great deal to me.

When I had Baxter into the vet, she stated that he had a strong pulse. I told her for the last month or so, I had noticed that everynight when I got Baxter into bed I would be able to feel his heart beating. I would not be touching him, I could feel it against the mattress. After examining him, she felt that it could possibly be pred induced hypertension or he could be in the beginning phases of heart failure. If you recall, when he was at the emergency vets in December they ran an echo on him and it came back showing an extra beat every 10 to 15 beats (if my memory serves me). The emergency vet thought perhaps he had boxer cardiomyopathy but since he was asymptomatic, didn't consider it to be anything but a subclinical finding. My vet said that we could do a full cardiac workup however considering his condition didn't think that it was necessary. I waiver back and forth on what to do. Anyone with any experience that can comment on our findings? Garrett had heart failure but he had a regurgitive murmur, Baxter has no murmur. Thanks in advance for any input!
