Yayy! I am so sorry for all the troubles you have been going through! If it were me, I would keep him and just see what they would say. You know, they aren't going to be coming in and out of your home, and if they do, you could just put the dogs in a closed room so that *neither* of them will be seen?

I am so glad to hear everyone’s advice to keep Spirit; I wanted to suggest that in the beginning when this thread first started. Sometimes things have a way of working out once a person sets their mind to it. You and your family seem to love both of your boxers so much that I really think it will work out for you to stay together. That old song "Love will keep us together" comes to mind.lovicon

I've rented for years and completly understand how hard it is to move with dogs. I have had to go through some of the same ups and downs about my babies as you are going through. I've learned that if you can set your heart firm that you are going to keep your baby no matter what...then it seems to work out....like magic. I've been following this thread since the begining and I feel your love for Spirit and I want so much for your family to stay together. I sure hope it works out for you...my thoughts are with you and you family.

Sharon-your rollercoaster with Spirit has been breaking my heart! And yes, I know it's ripping you apart too! I'm with everyone else...KEEP HIM! Is it an apt complex? They probably wouldn't even know that you have 2 dogs, especially if they're out at separate times! Most people probably wouldn't pay enough attention to realize they aren't the same dogs. And at the very least, maybe it would buy you more time, until you could find a place that would welcome ALL of you! Please keep Spirit, I believe that he's truly meant to be with you, because it's been sooo hard for you to find just the right home for him. I believe in signs, and I believe this is a sign for Spirit to stay with ya'll!

I too believe too that there is a reason that you have had such a difficult time trying to find Spirit a new home. It is just not meant to be. I hope that you can: Keep Him! Keep Him! Keep Him! Things will work out , because I have a good feeling about him staying with you and the children. Please keep us informed. They said that you could have one dog. The kids can have a dog too. See, the management only said that You could have onedog. You do. They did not say that the children could not have one. That would be my arguement it they find out. Let the children walk Spirit, and you walk Zena. Then they will never know.

Yah !!!! Keep him !!! and if the managment say's anything just tell them you are baby sitting him for me....give them my number and I will confirm the story.....my goodness its so hard traveling with a dog....but its a good thing I found the perfect babysitter !!!!

My teenager and I discussed having Spirit neutered (one of the BIGGEST priorities right now), and now that he has started a new p/t job, he has offered to pay 1/2 the cost, God bless him!!

What a wonderfully responsible boy. Not sure if Canada has this option, here they have "lifesaver clinics" . The local human society and vets offer low or no cost spay or neuter clinic, based on the ability to pay

I know here in Ottawa our humane society does have a spay and neuter clinic. Thats where I was going to bring Cinnamon but when i asked if they used ACE she said yes and I asked if they had any alternatives such as valium she got rude with me and told me that if i didnt like what they used not to bring my dog there because theyve had boxers that pulled through fine. So I went elsewhere cost me a lot more but this way I was sure Cin would be more safe.

Also, my vet has payment options. When my parents had to bring in our GSD, it cost 1700$ for her surgery i paid for 400 of it and my mom paid 400 then we did the rest on monthly payments. It cost me 500 to have Cinnamon fixed..and being 18 and only having a part time job, it took me a while oto save but i did it :D
