I hate to be a downer, :( but keep in mind if management does find out and wants you to get rid of him, they probably won't give you much time to find him a home, so your time to place him would be limited.
I really hope that everything works out for your family, you really have been through enough. It sounds like you have wonderful kids! I really think the biggest imprint we leave behind us our children, and you're obviously doing a great job raising them.
I hope things look up for you all from here on out!

I'll give you our experience: When hubby and I moved into our first apartment it was a no dogs house. What is Disney 8lbs. on a good day soaking wet! Well we snuck him in. We never flaunted him always looked out the window to make sure the landloard or other tenents wern't outside before we took him out. We did this for 4 years! We were also very careful to make sure rent was early, we wern't loud, kept our side beautiful. We took extra steps tpo make sure we were the perfent renters! Along came Oskar. We in the mean time had purchased our house. He was in the apartment with us for 2 months. Again we stuck to the looking out, and not flaunting. We wereon very good terms with our landloard to the point that he was very upset we were leaving! As it turns out he knew the whole time about Disney and Oskar! I couldn't believe it! But he told us that he never once got a complaint and we were the best tenants he ever had!
..figures it was no secret eh!! All that time and you thought you were pulling off the perfect caper!! :p
