Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about what's been happening with you, your kids, and Spirit. You can be assured that lots of thoughts and prayers are winging their way to you, along with many boxer comforting vibes to Spirit. I do admire you SO much. You have travelled this path that you're on with such courage, determination and selflessness despite an incredible amount of pain. That constitutes a hero in my eyes. Hang in there. Good luck with boxer rescue. I sure do hope they find a great home for Spirit.

I am so sorry to hear that things have not been working out so far. Hang in there, the perfect family for Spirit is out there. They will come when the timing is right. I just logged on to get my BW fix, and I'm glad I did. We are having such a hard enough time trying to accept this and remain positive that Spirit will only go to the best home. Having to say goodbye is hard enough, but to have to do it again, well this is just too much. Your good wishes and vibes are so appreciated...I know my BW friends understand my heartache, and that of my skin-kids too.
There are no updates to give, we are still waiting to hear from several places, including rescue. I am sure of one thing..Spirit will be coming with us until his home is found. I would NEVER surrender him to a shelter (as suggested by a neighbor :mad: ).
I will keep you posted when I can tell you all more. Again, thank you all for your understanding.

alternative plan?
This may not be a solution in your situation but I was forced some years back to move and the landlord - fully aware that I had 2 dogs at the time - would allow me to have only one; no apparent reasoning, I think his being a friend of my ex was a factor. Both of my babies had been strays and had been with me for several years. I was not willing to give either one up but I did have to make a hard decision to take Mikey (an older beagle who would bite strangers and fight with other dogs) with me; he had a hard life but he loved and trusted me. Due to his age and fear aggression, I knew a temp. foster situation would not work. My Honeydog, however, (H.D.) was a very sweet, much younger shepherd/elkhound mix that I knew would love any one and other animals as well - so Honey went to a wonderfully kind lady who agreed to keep her for as long as it took me to find another place. I visited frequently and provided all food, etc. and finally app. 5 months later I got away from the landlord from hell and my H.D. was ready and waiting; all worked out in the end. I guess my point being, is it possible for you to foster Xena, take Spirit with you, then find another place to live where everyone could be together again? Come on, BW friends! Anyone near Sharon who could possibly have connections to help her with housing or fostering? Please, pray for send good vibes to, or whatever it takes to help this family. Sharon, last night I had remembered that you mentioned something during christmas time about how you had a councellor over for your kids and she saw all the BW cards and it made her want a boxer more ---i went and ofund the post 
I just had a counsellor here for the kids who just happens to love boxers and has been searching for one for herself! She was sooooo amazed with all the cards and has only made her want one even more. I informed her of Ontario Boxer Rescue and she was excited to get home and look into it!
Are you still in touch with her??Maybe she could take Spirit??

Hi Shanz..thanks for thinking of me yet again! The counsellor was one of my first choices, but her hubby had got themselves a French Bull Dog! She was saddened to hear that Spirit did not like other dogs, or she still would have given him a home.
I am meeting with an aquaintance tomorrow who is interested in taking Spirit, BUT, he already owns Spirit's brother, Nitro. He seems to think that because they are siblings, they would get along. I am unsure, but we will soon see. I will keep you all posted as to how the meeting goes, and hopefully I will have some good news that Spirit has finally found his new home.

Well...I have just recovered from a boxer mugging, at least it sure felt like one! Spirit has been laying across me for the past hour. Ya know..that position where you just don't want to disturb them, so you stay still until your butt falls asleep?? Thoughts are going through my head...advise from people on what I should do with this situation, and I keep coming back to "I want to keep him"!! A lady from the pet store told me today that if it were her, she would just bring Spirit into the home..no matter what. She almost guaranteed me that this is just building managements way of covering their butts incase dogs hurt someone, or cause damage. My boys keep telling me that a few people living in this developement have 1 or 2 dogs!! I'm really thinking of keeping him!! I can't help but think that all of the bad luck recently with potential homes for him is a sign. A sign that he is mine forever. Am I being selfish..nuts?? I'm losing my nerve and am afraid that I won't let him go.
