Ok, I'm a first time dog owner...my boxie is almost a year (in 3 days) and we have had her since she was 12 weeks old. She is on a strict diet of 3 cups a day...she has has digestion issues in the past. But for the most part, she is energetic and outgoing.

Yesterday, when I came home I fed her the usual 1 cup she gets in the afternoon, no problem. When outside and did her business but about 2 hours later she started laying around and acting lethargic.

This morning, she didn't even look at her food or water when I fill them up for her. I offered a couple of times and tried to get her excited about eating but she just layed on the couch and moped around.

How long do I wait, with her not eating to call the vet?

Maybe she's just having an "off" day and her tummy is upset. If she doesn't perk up I'd give the vet a call just to be safe.

Hopefully, she is just having an "off day" as Austin's Mom said. If she continues to be lethargic and refuses food and water, and/or has other symptoms of possible illness, a call to the vet is in order. I hope she is feeling better today. Please keep us posted. Sending healing vibes to your girl.

again, thanks for all the help...maybe I'm trailing off the intent of the thread but when does she...uhhh (coughs) have her "girl time of the month"? Would that create a lack of desire to eat?

She hasn't been spayed yet
