My boy has bladder cancer (TCC)...

Titus had an appointment last Friday for scope. Unfortunately, his urethra is built too small for them to go all the way in to see why there is urine in his blood. They managed to go as far as about 30% in to his prostate and that's about it. I was told that it's very rare to see a boy his size with such small urethra although there's nothing wrong with that. So, this hasn't done any good for us and we are now faced with basically 2 options:
1 - keep him on meds and hope for the best
2 - surgery - once they see what's going on in there, we'll have to make decisions on whether to take a sample and close him up or go further and try to remove the tumor and if so, will the surgeon have to break his pelvic bone to get to it or is that too much?
I am so torn about what to do at this point! I want him to get well but at the same time I don't want him to be in pain and suffer...
I'm making another appointment with the surgeon to talk about the details, what's involved, how he feels about it, what to expect and bottom line, do I really want to put Titus through it...
Does anyone who have been through this have any tips or suggestions what's best? I just don't know what to do. All I know is I want what's best for Titus.

My dog has the same symptoms..
I feel for you..our 5 year old, Max, has been peeing blood on and off since November. After numerous antibiotics for bladder infections which none worked we still don't know what is wrong with him. We are stationed in Germany and the vet told us it was stress from the move and sometimes dogs just pee blood. His symptoms are just like Titus's. We've had the cultures done and nothing came back, ultrasound nothing. On Sunday, we noticed he was leaking urine when he was sleeping. We took him back to the vet and again they say it's a bladder infection. My gut says it's not good, but no one can prove it otherwise. I just wish we could get some answers.

Update on Titus...
The piroxicam he's been taking has helped and he is only leaking occasionally and there is no more blood in his urine
))) The tumor seemed to shrink a little but it is still pretty big.
Since the only way for us to find out exactly what's going on inside and know for sure what type of cancer it is, he is going into surgery tomorrow morning. The goal is to hopefully be able to remove as much of the tumor as possible without putting him in danger. If they can't safely remove it, they will at least try to get a sample of it so we know for sure what we are dealing with... The recovery should only be couple weeks just for the incision and stitches to heal up.
I'm really nervous but hopeful at the same time. Hopefully maybe we'll get some good news! Wish us luck..

I received the BEST news today! My boy Titus does NOT have cancer!!!! 
His surgery last week went fantastic! They were able to remove 90% of the mass which was attached to his prostate. Furthermore, they told me that once they were able to get at it, it appeared to be more like a huge cyst with some kind of fluid inside. They neutered him as well to minimize the possibility of the cyst growing back if in fact it was a cyst.
Titus has done very well since the surgery although I have been getting little sleep and missing alot of work taking care of him... He is one strong boy! The incision is quite long but he doesn't seem to care much about that... hehe
The doctor called me up with results from the lab and personally gave me the great news! Now, he just needs to heal up from the surgery and hopefully be back to being crazy hyper Titus! appicon
Thank you everyone for all the prayers and good vibes!!! I was devastated when they told me he had cancer. It was the worse feeling in the world! I'm just glad we were able to pull through and get lucky! Today, I experienced the best feeling in the world knowing that my boy is going to be okay!!
