Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I don't know what I would do without the support I feel here. I know that all you know the pain I am feeling. There is nothing like being a parent to a Boxer. It was the most wonderful experience of my life. I have no children. He was my child. I know my sweet Tiger is surrounded by all the sweet angels that went before him. There is alot of peace in knowing he is running and playing like his old self again. I just can't stop crying. Everywhere I look, I see him. I swear I can hear the tags on his collar and his footsteps through the house. I find myself wondering around the house not knowing what to do with myself. I haven't moved any of his things. I just can't do it. I feel like if I put his things away then I am wiping him away and I just can't do that. He has a laundry basket in the living room full of all of his toys. I never threw any of his toys away.

I am just curious what and when did you all do something with their things?

Tiger also had a little brother. My cat, Bud. Bud is missing his big brother. This morning he ran to the door and when I opened it he just poked his head out and just looked at Tiger's kennel. It was like he was saying "Momma bubba wasn't in bed with us all nite we better check outside".

I guess I am rambling. Thank you all again for all your kind words and hugs.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Don't ever doubt that you did the right thing, you loved him enough to let him go peacefully.

I'm so sorry.... but I'm proud you, you did something that some people either wait to long to do or just can't bring themselves to do. It may not seem like it now but it will get better.

As for the toys and such...when you are ready put them up, so your next little one can play with his big brothers toys.

You will be in our prayers.

When my Samson left for the bridge I was just too overcome with grief to do anything with his things. Luckily, I have very understanding and compassionate family members who helped move his things out of sight - it was too much to see his reminders everywhere, I was barely holding it together as it was - seeing his stuff just intensified my grief. Everyone handles it differently, you will know when and how to best deal with his things. It was been 4 years since he died and I still can't look at or hold his collar without breaking down. On a brighter note, some of his toys were recently inherited by his 'sister' Chloe. Just takes things slow, one step at a time...somehow it does get easier.

Take care!

I am sorry for your loss. I lost my Indy in October and I still can't wash his nose prints off my french doors. Take things one day at a time. One of my comforts is I have his name tag on my key chain. Actually I have all 3 of my previous boxers tags on my key chain. It keeps them close to me.

I had my husband move Cairo's bed out of our office, and I kept only her collar with a photo on my desk (I practically live at my desk). Otherwise all I did was cry whenever I saw her things. Now, with a new little one, she plays with Cai's old toys, and while it's not the same, she is definitely a kindred spirit with my Cairo. No doubt. When the time is right, you'll have another smooshie face, and the heaviness will ease. It doesn't go away...but it gets easier.
